The Sox offense is playing pretty tired - roadweary perhaps - long season coming to a close. I do NOT want them to leave this until the Toronto games in Fenway, though. Sometimes we don't get what we want. The Sox offense has been quieting down for some time now. In the O's series they kept winning games with one big hit. The next stop down from one big hit is 0 big hits, and we seem to be there now. Hitting comes and goes. Always has, always will. This may simply be a downturn at an unfortunate time of year.

Yankees, baseball gods, bounces - all saying "here, please Sox, take this game". Can they - do they dare?

I have zero faith in Bogey lifting one to the outfield.

God, that's brutal. He missed two center cut pitches in that AB.

so it will have to be Mookie to bring someone in. That's probably as good as it gets.

Yes, the hell with 2 runs. Let's bust this thing open. Don't leave it a close game in the pen's hands.

Ortiz got on his horse there, haha. Looked a little ginger walking back to the dugout though. Hopefully nothing to worry about.

Hopefully Ortiz is all right with the slide into Layne at the plate.

Loved Mookie's seeing eye double. Kinda loved the passed ball more. Take that Girardi.

Sanchez with a passed ball (I thought he was the second coming of...). Walking the bases loaded again. This is gorgeous stuff.

On the plus side, I think Clay is pitching his way to that 4th starter job on the postseason roster. Pomeranz to the bullpen. Who would have guessed that a couple of months ago? Clay will be making a run at CY next year.
