Leon and Bradley have been great first 2 games of year; pray, that Bradley isn't hurt after the clutch SB Bradley got caught stealing man! Just a bad throw to 2nd base.

Awesome win but I'm praying for a rainout tomorrow. This bullpen is in shambles and they're about to lose another bullpen guy.
Matt Barnes is headed to the bereavement list after a death in the family. Turns out that Robbie Ross Jr. wasn't at the ballpark too yesterday due to flu like symptoms too.
My guess is that Noe Ramirez will be called up while Barnes is out until he or Pomeranz comes back.

Taylor and Abad haven't pitched at all this season and Scott and Hembree only pitched a combined inning yesterday...

Three out of four of the Sox best bullpen arms are out with Thornburg, Smith, and now Barnes. Plus, Robbie Ross Jr is out with a flu. Kimbrel has been used in both games so far and Kelly just pitched two innings yesterday. The Sox could definitely use a day off tomorrow. I don't want to see Abad and Taylor pitch, unless it's a blowout. Makes sense that the Sox would call up Hernandez with Holt being out with the Flu too. I didn't even think of that. The Sox have no backup infielder if Holt is out a few games.

Rather than reply to a bunch of posts I'll just make a little list here:
Sale - looked great, but he is great not really a surprise. I don't think Boston has to bring out the best in him; he's already been great. But Boston won't be too big for him and while Porcello won the Cy last year it's truly nice to have a real Ace again. This is the guy you start in the playoffs and know your team should win. We all know we didn't have that feeling last year with Porcello or Price.
Leon - nice start but let's remember how he finished last year. This guy isn't going to be one of the best hitting catchers in baseball. He's streaky and that's fine. Like the guy but he is what he is.
Moreland - let's lay off
Young in right - I know on paper Beni should have played right field but Mookie is not out for an extended period there is no reason to switch Beni around. It's game 2, the kid is in a nice spot let's not mess with it.
Kelly - I'm high on him in the pen this year. It was a nice first outing. I wasn't able to watch it though so that's box score result only. I hope he looked as good as it seemed.
Kimbrel - nice to see him hold down a game like that. Was a big problem last year.
Bradley - personally, I think he is what he is with the bat. He's streaky too but his slugging is very valuable.

It's an eternal fire that has no method of extinguishing. Basically, the Centralia, WV of Yankee hatred? Don't you mean Centralia, PA?

Great win last night. Sale was fun to watch.
Hope Leon keeps hitting. If he's an asset with the bat, then he fills one of the few real holes on this team.

"I'm not going to overcook this thing offensively. They threw some good stuff at us. Chris Sale is a quality pitcher. The guys out of the bullpen had some power with some spin. We're up there battling. It's two games into the season. We've got work to do in front of us." -- Hurdle

Have you seen Sanchez's stats so far this year? I hope Marco could do better.

Robbie Ross to DL for flu, retro to 4/3. Marrero called up. Who the hell is playing tomorrow?

Nothing like a split squad scrimmage for game 3 of the regular season

Robbie Ross to DL for flu, retro to 4/3. Marrero called up. Who the hell is playing tomorrow? Freaking crazy, I think the Sox have used every man they have on their 40 man roster within the first three games of the year. I've never seen anything like it. Thank God for the rainout, one less game to play with virtually the whole team down.

So the Sox have 4 situational relievers who can get out hitters from one side of the plate (Abad, Noe Ramirez, Scott, and Hembree). They have one complete unknown rookie in Taylor. I hope Farrell can muster up some brain power to get by in the Detroit series.
