Wonder what Carson Smith is up to these days At least he was smart enough to not break his throwing hand.

Wonder what Carson Smith is up to these days At least he was smart enough to not break his throwing hand. I guess that will be some consolation when he moves from the 60-day DL to a DFA at some point this year, and looses the remainder of his prorated $656,370 salary this year.

Dugouts need punching bags or some device for players to take frustrations out on. Someday someone is going to swing a bat at a cooler or something and shatter it and hurt someone. Half joking.

Andriese cleared waivers and is with the Marlins AAA team. His last appearance was the July 4th loss against the Sox. Thank you for your service.

Missed this, and don’t see it posted elsewhere — Garrett Cooper signed with the Orioles organization on June 24, and has 106 at-bats with AAA Norfolk, batting .206 with one home run.

You're looking at his MLB stats. He's played 8 games with Norfolk: 10 for 29 with 4 home runs, 7 walks, and was IL Player of the Week last week. .345/.472/.793.

Casey Kelly re-signing with the LG Twins in Korea for 1.5 mill 6th year there. There was some talk about some stateside interest but he’s got a good thing going over there it seems Casey Kelly will be released after today's start and become a free agent, as the LG Twins have decided to replace one of their foreign pitchers. Kelly is a fan favorite and is considered one of the best pitchers in Twins history, but he has struggled this year. Raul Alcantara was also released by the Doosan Bears last week. He was a dominant pitcher but he hasn't been the same since suffering an elbow injury in April.

Yanks cut Jeter Downs loose so he could sign in Japan
He’d actually been pretty good for them in AAA

Jose Iglesias is once again having one of those years where he hits well in a small number of PAs, as he did for us in 2013 and 2021. He has "produced between 1.0 and 2.0 WAR every season from 2015 to ’22, and he has already done so again in ’24." As usual there was no way of looking at what he did in the minors in 2023 and knowing he would hit well in 2024. blogs.fangraphs.com/mark-vientos-and-jose-iglesias-are-making-magic-with-the-mets/

How many games/days in MLB does he need to qualify for a pension? I think he already has his 43 days.

You need 10 years of service time to fully vest. Looks like he's 115 days short, so he won't get there this year.

For anyone interested in filling out the night, in the Waybac machine, circa September 30, 1967, and have access to NESN+ they're boradcasting a two hour version of that game, and following it with two hours of some Yaz-centric programming.
(right now, Jim Perry trying to pitch himself out of a jam in the 5th, in for Kaat, who had to leave w arm injury Thought Pery might widdle out of it, but Adair just looped one into right center, to tie it up, 1-1!! "...and the Big A has done it again...a little handle hit to shallow center, to drive in the tying run, with two out, in the fifth inning"... )

Kavadas .100/.206/.133 in 34 PA for his new team. 4bb/14k. Lugo has only played 1 game. (7 day DL) Paulino hasn't played yet. (7 day DL) Batista hasn't played yet. Yorke .364/.421/.485 in 39 PA. 3bb/5k. Coffey .200/.342/.267 in 38 PA. 5bb/10. He had that crazy 16 game stretch but since then has been the same Cutter. 110 PA, .192/.300/.287 with 13bb/28k since that stretch. Pretty much in line with the rest of his career. Zeferjahn 4.0 ip, 1bb/3k. 4.50 era. Vargas 1.13 era, 8.0 ip, 4 hits, 3r/1er, 5bb/12k. Bolivar .161/.297/.226 in 37 PA, 6bb/7k. Weins 2.89 era, 9.1 ip, 6 h, 3r/3er, 6bb/18k
Far too early to really make anything of it but at the time of all the trades I figured the only player they might end up missing/end up as a regular is Yorke. He's off to a hot start with his new team. Vargas and Bolivar are still very young though.

Thanks for compiling! The only one you missed was Ovis Portes, who has made one appearance, in relief, and didn't make it out of the inning.
BB, BB, (SB) BB, 2B, 4-3, Ks, BB pulled
