He was probably going to come to Boston but now that some schlub in his camp leaked it he's going to feel bad and go back to Utah

More likely someone jumped the gun on the announcement before the Heyward or his agent could inform Jazz and Heat about his decision to join the Celtics.

My take: he's decided to join the Celtics, but they're still finalizing the contract and Boston still needs to clear cap space

Some speculation on a sign and trade. Wonder how slick the Celts would consider getting with this. I believe we could renounce our FAs (but not Olynyk) and release Mickey and have about 19 mil to spend.
So it would seem like the team could spend that 19 mil and do a double sign and trade with Olynyk where you give him like a 1 year 18 mil deal and combine him with Crowder and maybe a future 1st for Hayward. So they'd have money to keep shopping and/or retain Jerepko or Green.

Not sure Jazz president would've responded as he did if there were negotiations on a sign and trade.

The story is that he wanted Keith Lockhart to announce it by calling him and his family up on stage during the 1812 overature. #fireworks #notreally

It's definitely official and we can definitely thank Stevens for him coming here. Based on his words there is no way he is here without Stevens. Stevens really is amazing; such a great coach and from all accounts and even better person and able to make his players feel important. We are very lucky to have him. Hayward or no Hayward.

Took a nap. Got mad after being excited then letdown, then confused and baffled. Kind of like every date I've been on in my life lol.
Just happy he chose Boston in the end. Boston needed that.

what move(s) do people see Celtics making to get cap space? Good question..: early reports are the Celtics are shopping Smart which seems to indicate they are willing to resign Bradley which would be terrific. I'm really interested to see what kinds of draft picks they can get for Smart, Bradley or Crowder. Seems like they are dealing one of the three.

Reports are he got a max deal. So that means, Crowder, Bradley or Smart have to be moved. Rozier won't get them max space.
Crowder seems like the logical choice, but we better get a good return. That's a hard choice.

Crowder is more expendable than Smart. Smart is the one I want to keep most. I wouldn't deal him unless he was in a trade for a superstar. This is another reason why not having a chance at George stinks. The problem here is that teams know Ainge needs to make a move so he might not get a good return.

For next season Crowder is the best choice to move but past that it's whomever you don't plan to extend from Smart or Bradley. I'd like them to extend Bradley because I'm not worried about money our ownership needs to pay in tax dollars. I also don't care if by the end of the year Crowder only plays 15 a game because that's the role he's best suited for.

Kevin Pelton thinks Smart is the guy that should be traded, followed by Crowder. For what that's worth. He doesn't think Bradley gets dealt.
I can live with trading Smart. We drafted Allen who should be a good defensive bench guard. What do we get? A late first round pick? Everyone knows I'm not his biggest fan, but that's a crappy return.

Just trade Crowder. His skillset is about as redundant as it gets with Brown, Tatum, and now Hayward.

We will see... with the assets this team has I would take whatever team and deal him for 2022 and 2026 unprotected firsts..: F it We are in it for the long haul.

Nets signed Otto Porter to a max deal offer sheat.
Does anyone know if Washington can match?
This has serious implications on the Nets pick next year.
Edit- Nevermind NBAHOOPSRUMORS said that Washington planned on matching. Good.

I don't see the Celtics paying Bradley the money he can get on the open the open market next year. Smart has more upside. I don't think you trade him unless its a package for a superstar. Same think happened to the Nets last year. They tried to sign a bunch of restricted free agents and had their offers matched.
