@tylerdearden: After much thought, I have decided to sign with the Boston Red Sox. Excited to be a part of such a great organization. "This is your life and it's ending one minute at a time." Good choice Tyler. First rule about the GCL Sox: You do not talk about the GCL Sox Second rule about the GCL Sox: You do not talk about the GCL Sox

They need to hurry up and get David Durden signed now. That GCL Outfield of Tyler Dearden/David Durden should beat the crap out of teams.

Was talking to someone who knows his HS coach & Tyler Dearden's family, and he said Dearden wants to sign. Trying to get Sox to pay for his College. I'm not in the know, but will a team cover College for a 29th rounder? soxfanatic Veteran soxfanatic Avatar Posts: 2,359 Post-Draft Discussion Thread about an hour ago via mobile iakovos11 and vermontsox1 like this Quote like Post Options Post by soxfanatic on about an hour ago @tylerdearden: After much thought, I have decided to sign with the Boston Red Sox. I guess my HS coach, the one who told me he wanted to sign was right.

A couple signing bonuses were added to MLB's draft tracker: Andre Colon (125k), Tanner Raiburn (5k), Luis Torres (50k), Trey Ganns (25k), Rio Gomez (10k). www.mlb.com/draft/tracker/redsox

According to David Durdens Twitter it says CF in the Boston Red Sox organization As Mike said way earlier in the thread, it's not uncommon for a draftee or two to misinterpret the club selecting them as agreeing to the number they told the scout before the draft, or on the phone during the draft. I wouldn't assume anything until you see something like Dearden's tweet or a report or a release from the team.

Confused. We have half of page 10 of this thread saying Perry already signed. If that is true, and it was overslot by more than a few thousand, then Thompson would need to sign to avoid losing the future pick. That would cause a meltdown. There's just no way that they made a mistake like that. It is also not out of the question that the reason it hasn't been announced is that the final figure is contingent on the Sox signing Thompson for 'x' amount of $$. Otherwise the figure might be slot or whatever the small amount is that they have available.

He apparently departed for Fort Meyers a while back and everything. Not sure why his signing hasn't been reported but seems as good as a tweet.

Charles Scoggins. Also was Official Scorer for the Red Sox. Might still be.

For those wondering why Tyler Dearden's swing was described as "violent".....it wasn't just a Fight Club reference. Check out the video from this BA article.

So out of the draft picks not signed three are definitely no, Marcus Ragan, Carson Teel, Donny Diaz. Still have a few more time. I am pumped about the commitment rebuilding the system again. I like the fact it's like a challenge to get more exciting prospects.
I also am happy th DD saw what he had in Eddie Romero and made sure to properly promote him. I also am impressed with a Rickard. Look forward to the future.

Thanks. And welcome to the site.
That hadn't been reported on this site yet, even thought it's a few days old.

This post is from June 2016. Thus there is still a chance that he and others can sign by the July 7, 2017 deadline.

This is confusing. How did he commit to FIU a year ago and just graduate from high school this year?

This is confusing. How did he commit to FIU a year ago and just graduate from high school this year? These days some kids commit as early as their freshman or sophomore years.
