Keep it going Fister. Nothing like a great surprise every once in a while.

Thought: Eduardo Nunez is not that good of a hitter and shouldn't be hitting leadoff. My biggest issue with him in leadoff is that he isn't overly disciplined. He's more of a moving the chains kind of hitter. Hopefully that will all go away when Pedroia returns. ADD: lol, a major upgrade over Holt batting first.

Ah, back - rewatching Ken Burn's Jazz with my wife. Now it is just me and the game. (I had the game on my laptop - so multitasking!).
So far - encouraged by Fister, and by Xander's swings - also Mookie's first AB and Hanley's RBI.
Feels like another tight game in store.

3-1 plus we have a rested bullpen for the primary guys.

JBJ. FYI, i had a tooth pulled today and Fister is providing me pain relief at this point.

And... 3-1 plus we have a rested bullpen for the primary guys. Workman is out for today's game. So is Kelly. The 7th inning man right now is probably a combination of Scott, Abad, or Hembree. Still a long way to go here.

Three plates appearances for Betts, six total pitches seen. Has Betts always had such little plate discipline? I don't remember that from last year.

Nice job - through 5, less than 70 pitches - very efficient.

Pedrofan, we just got the five innings we wanted. It's all gravy from here but Fister looks good for another inning or three.

Big DP there. Now Fister gets the 9 hitter leading off the 6th.

Yeah I don't know how far I ride this Fister train. He hasn't pitched in forever too. I'm sure he's coming back out for the 6th though.

Lizards and Sasquatches. You don't hear those words spoken on the average baseball broadcast.

As Nunez and Devers (inevitably) cool off, this is when we need Betts, Bogaerts, Hanley and JBJ to heat up.
Loving Fister's pace - this is how you pitch...get the ball, throw the ball.
And he is through 6!

Fister called in his angel in the outfield for this game. Go figure, Fister might give the Sox the best game in this series possibly.
Freaking baseball sometimes.

Is JBJ hurt badly? Wrist? Or thumb, I guess.

It's 100% speculative since I'm not inside his head but it appears that he's pressing. A rare ugly swing on strike 3. I also think Mookie is pressing.

So great to see JBJ established - we have a .250-18-70 or better type player with superb defense, hopefully for years...gotta love it.
