If this is the team reaction to a frustrating game, I love it! Wow.

That fly ball Devers just hit might have hit the wall at Fenway. His batted ball profile really is great to be in Boston. Hope JBJ's finger is alright, he was starting to go on one of his streaks. What happened to JBJ's finger? Anything that looked serious? He ran home and there was a close play at home. He kind of slapped the plate with his hand to get around the tag. Came up kind of shaking it and left the game. I don't think it's anything serious probably just jammed it.

Alas, the Matt Barnes save situation and dude is unavailable on his time to really shine.

Five ABs and a total of 10 pitches seen for Mookie tonight. This isn't just a slump anymore. Something is just not right with him. This guy needs a couple of days off in a row to clear his head.

Eh, the two are intertwined in my mind, though you're right that he's more of a high-average, lowish OBP guy that, all else equal, you'd rather hit sixth or seventh. POUR IT ON Agree with you. I was thinking this the past 3-4 days. It's less obvious when he's white hot. But he's not an ideal leadoff hitter. When Pedroia is back he should hit 6 - 9. EDIT: Devers looks like he could use a day off, too. My thought is that he's a bit of a free swinger. With runners on, particularly a runner on first, the pitcher is much more likely to throw a strike. As I said earlier, it'll change when Pedroia gets back and it's certainly better than Holt. Pedroia back also means you can give Devers a couple days off.

Thought: Eduardo Nunez is not that good of a hitter and shouldn't be hitting leadoff. jmei was wrong (tonight). Lol. I agree on some levels. He's ultra aggressive at the plate and swings outside the zone a lot. If he had a patience even on Mookie's level, I believe he's a top player in the league. I've never understood players who swing outside the zone with such regularity i.e. Sandoval, Nunez. It's just the Red Sox way to be patient.

It's too bad we didn't have Fister lined up against Kluber.

This Fister gem is making me a bit nauseous. Not because anyone could have seen it coming but because what could have been had be not pissed away last nights game.

I have to say that this team is extremely fun to watch when locked in. Also, I'm not sure there's a 1-7 of Pedroia, Benintendi, Betts, Hanley, Devers, JBJ, Xander that is more formidable. It looks like JBJ and Xander are feeling a bit better recently, which is great news. Of course, the key word being locked in. Especially when you consider how young, fun, and high-energy the core is.
Hats off to Fister after taking lots of flak lately.

You gotta take the good with the bad in a baseball season, IMO. I get what your saying, but enjoy the moment. Fister pitched his butt off.

Just got back from a meeting/bbq and it looks as if Fister delivered. See, it's really hard to tell what will happen game to game. They just have to play them out.

I sorta need to hear JBJ does not have a fracture. I believe he was high fiving after he scored if that means anything. As far as I saw, he only slapped the plate.
