Anyone read Team Stream? They really need to stop posting anything that guy Joshua Bateman writes. He’s quite possibly the worst writer I’ve ever read... I mean at least proof read you stuff. But beyond that every post is just a series of two sentence paragraphs that are so choppy and terrible to read. He comes up with good subject matter he just can’t write about it to save his life. It's not just him. I was browsing another site and the writer's work had grammatical errors, spelling errors, the syntax was really questionable. It's probably a combination of two things: the desire to get original content on a site regardless of those skills, and a lack of editorial oversight. I agree, it makes some of the stuff nearly unreadable.

I'd probably give up all three of Brown, Tatum and the LAL/PHI/SAC pick for Davis.

I'd probably give up all three of Brown, Tatum and the LAL/PHI/SAC pick for Davis. Funny I was responding questioning the third piece completely forgetting Hayward. I would love AD but I’m really looking forward to what the current team looks like in 2 years. Giving up Brown and Tatum would be so hard to swallow.

I like Brown and Tatum, but they're both still pretty far from "best player on a championship team" caliber. Davis is, at worst, in the conversation for that tier, and he's still only 24.
This is all wildly speculative, though, and the earliest I see Davis being traded is in the offseason.

Usually, like 95% of the time you win the trade if you get the best player. That trade might be the 5% when you don't. Davis is and most likely will be the best player. A top 10, maybe top 5 player. Yet Brown has made a massive jump and Tatum looks legit. Nevermind the high pick. I can't do all three, only two at most and it has to be Brown or Tatum and the pick. I wouldn't do Brown and Tatum. Even then I'm so so on it. They look like one of the top teams even without Hayward. Brown, Tatum, Rozier and Smart are a blast to watch. After the two game shock of Haywards injury they are playing great. Last I looked they had the second best point differential in the league to only the Thunder. It doesn't look like a fluke either, just young guys improving. The fun part is they should only get better as they gel and the young guys get more experience. They also don't seem to have a fatal flaw like last years team with rebounding and lacking enough bigs. Only question mark is shooting and Morris should help. At the same time if Brown, Rozier and Tatum keep shooting like they are, we have no problem.
Overall Danny did a awesome job. The mix of young players and Vets, athletes to skilled players and how they all fit together is unreal.

If you are athletic enough to be in the NBA and be decent offensively you are capable of playing D. D is about desire and intensity for the most part, you just have to want it. I said the same thing years ago when some were saying the same about Pierce and Allen. The thing is that players who are relied on to produce offense and always have tend to coast on D, partly to save energy for O. There is no reason that these same players can't excel defensively when motivated. Defense is about heart and desire if you already have the athleticism. I think Stevens and the C's are proving this to be true. I think the perfect example is Big Al Jefferson. He was just like Okafor all offense, no D. Yet over time he actually became a good defensive player. So I would like to get him. Only problem is minutes. We can't hand him anything more than maybe 10 minutes a night right now. Injuries will happen, but he would have to earn minutes on the Celtics. He might be better off on a team that really needs him. If we did get him, I wouldn't mind sending Nader to them. That seems fair or a second round pick. That's about it though. The Philly and Phoenix GMs win the how to kill a players trade value award. It's laughable that we can debate if Nader is too much to give up for Okafor after he had a very good rookie year.

Actually my comment wasn't in regards to Okafor when I posted the thought about defense. My thought might not really hold true when it comes to bigs as they might lack the foot speed and quick hops it takes to be good on D. As for the minutes for him in Boston, yes I can see that being a problem in the short run but I would think he would earn them in the long run. Too much of a talent not to. Who ever gets him I expect he will be productive.

From what I've seen from Okafor I don't think he's two slow or anything like that. More like he just doesn't try. I don't think he'll ever be great, but I think he can play a passable D. Look at Kendrick Perkins and you can see what effort can do on D. The big question is does Okafor have that type of drive to get better. Perkins is a poster child for hardwork.

Plenty of superlatives to throw around in regards to this team but the biggest one has to be defense. Maybe the opponents are part of the equation but given how short a period of time they have been playing together and in a new system it is impressive. As I have mentioned before it has to be a testament to the coach. He was able to coach up a roster that wasn't really that skilled or lacked size and length to play over there heads. Now he has a roster that is obviously better and are giving up the fewest points in the league. Danny has put together a really good team and the addition of MM will be a big one not to mention adding the best all around player back next yr.

Who would you rather have Terry Rozier or Justise Winslow? Take position out of the equation.
Was just thinking how the Celtics tried to trade up for Winslow and would have had to trade the Rozier pick to do so.

A player with Davis' ability, age and team control (All-NBA first teamer signed through 2020-21 (this year and the next three years), which is only his age 27 season) is almost never traded. If you squint, the trade packages for Deron Williams and Kevin Love aren't all that far off, though I agree that neither of those trades had a third piece like the one we're discussing.
I think ya'll are underestimating how valuable Anthony Davis is. He's a true superstar who is still not yet in his prime and is under long-term control. If there is one player that you'd want to build your team around over the next five years, he's in the conversation. I like both Brown and Tatum, but the odds of any one of them becoming a long-term All-Star caliber player (let alone a player of Davis' ability) is probably sub-50%, and even if they do break out like we hope, it will likely be five years before they reach their peak.

No doubt but his injury history and concern is real which I think both drops his return and puts him on the market to begin with... assuming he was even put out on the market. For the record I’m not saying no; I’m just saying it’s hard to swallow even for Davis... if his medicals were clean then it’s a different conversation... Also, salaries need to match so this is how the trades would have to look: Celtics trade: Horford - Brown - Tatum - Lakers/Kings 1st New Orleans trade: Anthony Davis and Solomon Hill Or Celtics trade: Brown - Tatum - Lakers/Kings 1st plus Morris - Yabusele - Nader New Orleans trade: Anthony Davis

Overall Danny did a awesome job. The mix of young players and Vets, athletes to skilled players and how they all fit together is unreal. It truly is amazing. It's sad that Hayward got injured that soon, however when he comes back the idea of a Kyrie/JB/Hayward/JT/Horford line-up is unbelievable. This might sound hyperbolic, but I truly think that this core mixed with the insane depth they have and the best coach in the league other than Pop can really take down the Warriors. Which seemed impossible not so long ago.

I for one am not doubting the talent of Anthony Davis. He's probably a top 5 talent in the league when healthy. He's also only played more than 70 games once through five seasons and the Pelicans are not beating Golden State at any point with AD and Demarcus as the two cogs on their roster. With Horford (needed to make the money work), Brown, Tatum, Rozier and a top five pick, they could probably convince Boogie to sign and make this his team and might have a legit shot at battling GSW in a couple years. I dont think they can do that with AD and Demarcus. And they arent going to get talents like the Jays or whatever the la/sac/phil pick becomes because they are a little too competitive. And they certainly arent signing any free agents. This would also be a risky trade for the celts. Youd be cashing in on a point guard who can walk out the building in two years, a twenty eight year old shooting guard whose foot was hanging off his ankle a few weeks ago, and a transcendent big who has battled injuries in each of his nine nba seasons. This trade likely wont happen until next offseason when the picks and the jays' full potential becomes clearer. But its not an unfair deal for either side and I think NO is stuck.

Which seemed impossible not so long ago. You’re not far fetched. This can’t take place until next year so you have another year of development from Brown, Tatum, Rozier and guys like Semi. The lineup you mentioned can go 5 deep scoring the ball and matches up with the Warriors length. Then you have bench options like Smart, Rozier, Morris and Ojeleye that can mix and match defensively. Will it happen? I don’t know but it’s something you can dream on without having to make huge leaps.

I hope the trade as presented never happens. Injuries are part of the game. With AD's injury history I think we would be putting too many eggs in one basket. I love the team we have now. Next year we get Hayward back. And a shot at one of the bigs in the draft. We will have a very solid core that is more than capable of contending with GS. Rebounding does not appear to be the problem we expected. The number of three's now shot and the length we have at the wings is a plus for the rebounding.

At the same time Winslow still has a high upside. The funny thing is what were the other 4 first round picks? Like Danny said latter on, sometimes the best trades are the ones you don't make. This is a perfect example. I also think Stevens is the main reason our young guys look so good. He knows how to get the most out of them. I watch the Lakers and how they use Ball and it really shows how good Stevens is. Watching Lue in Cleveland have no clue how to make the pieces work. Then you watch even Doc turnover his roster and get results. We have been very lucky having very good coaches lately. Having lived through the M.L. Carr years it's been great.

Tonight’s a big early season test for this group. Losing won’t tell us much but a strong win could shed some light on how good this group can be. Really look forward to it. My wife is already hating how much Celtics are on the TV this year.

What an impressive win! On the road against a very good team and down 18 at the half, no problem. Kyrie really showing he can do it all and carry this team when he needs to. After losing GH I am just dumbfounded that they have won 7 straight with such a young roster and with all the turnover? Just shaking my head!
