It's almost Farrell like stubbornness with this Mookie in the leadoff spot. Hitting him down one spot in the order isn't going to kill Mookie. Does Cora give reasons? What are his reasons? He's seen George Springer do it and give pressure immediately to start a game from pitch one. That was his biggest reason for doing it.

No one made a comment about this but Walden did a great job eating up the last 4 or 5 innings in yesterday's game. He ended up throwing 50 plus pitches last night.
He got optioned for Poyner today. He'll be up until Eduardo comes back.

Do'n't look now, but the Mets have designated the dark Knight. Buy low on a power RHP with a bipolar track record.

Does Cora give reasons? What are his reasons? He's seen George Springer do it and give pressure immediately to start a game from pitch one. That was his biggest reason for doing it. Or the pitcher gets him out (happens more than 50% of the time!) and then feels real loose facing the non-Mookie portions of the lineup that follow... I'm always skeptical of these arguments based on making players feel comfortable or uncomfortable. "It makes the pitcher feel pressure." "Player X feels comfortable batting 2nd but not 5th." "Reliever Y can only face batter when his team is ahead in the 9th inning but never by more than 3 runs, unless there are runners on base..." Like, I get why as a player you might care about feeling comfortable. And as an ex-player manager you might sympathize. But what's the evidence that it actually matters for performance? Anyway, if he's really insistent about starting the game with Mookie at bat he needs to put a better hitter in the 9 hole. Benintendi? Pedroia when he gets back?

The bottom of the strike zone and the lower outside corner seems...fluid tonight.

Betts needs to dropped lower in the lineup. Considering how bad the bottom 3 in the lineup have been, there are so many runs that should be scoring but aren't.
Sorry if this has been brought up in other threads, I haven't logged in in a while...
Why isn't Swihart getting any starts at catcher or really any at bats at all? Vaz and Leon haven't been hitting. Is it because Swihart can't call a game/frame pitches/throw out runners?
Any chance Moreland starts playing every day if JBJ doesn't warm up? and then putting Hanley at DH, JD in left, Benny in center, and Betts in right?

Mookie is crazed. Wasted on lead-off but just crazed lit.

Cleveland fights all the way back from a 5-0 deficit and chokes by walking in the 6th run.Brilliant.

I freaking took a 3 hour nap in the beginning of the game. Devers has a amazing swing. So does Martinez.
Mookie is a baseball god at this point.
Porcello still solid. This game is much better.

Betts was 2 feet away from another homerun.
Yankees blow the lead.

Yeah I don't get it, but that was Cora's reasoning behind it. I don't see it changing, even though this lineup begs for him to be dropped at least one spot. JBJ starting to hit would help too.

Can someone smarter than me explain what’s going on with Benintendi? He’s still drawing walks, which is great, but I had pretty lofty expectations for him this year (.290 or so BA, possibly 25 HRs). Is he being pitched to differently in his second full year and just hasn’t adjusted yet?
