If they have to go the DL route, I'd guess they either call up Beeks or perhaps give Johnson one last shot to stay on the roster? Wright wouldn't be stretched out enough to start anyways and I guess they like Velazquez in the role he's in?
I just hope this isn't an "out for the year" type of thing. Price was so good at the end of last season and the beginning of the season. That would be a huge loss for the Red Sox.

At this point you got to wonder if Price is going through TOS syndrome, which is what Thornburg went through and lost the season with. Thornburg had the same numbness in his arm last year too. It's also what torpedoed Matt Harvey's career with the Mets. He's been DFA'd and he may be out of the game for good. I hope that's not what's going on.

I wonder if they start considering Harvey with this news? Harvey is a worse mess. And unlike Price, he's not a good teammate. Price has his issues with the media but his teammates swear by him. Harvey is a clubhouse problem and right now a terrible pitcher who most likely will never get back what he had. At this point I'd try out Beeks well before Harvey - in Boston anyways. If he's willing to go to Pawtucket then maybe, but he's probably going to look for a team that will try him in the rotation and there's a lot of bad teams out there who could try him. And I certainly wouldn't trade for him - not with that price tag (or any price tag at this point). He's totally a flier.

Velazquez has been the best out of the three. Keep Beeks down for depth.

Beeks makes me nervous because recent dominance is small sample and early in the season when many minor league hitters are still catching up.

feel bad for price. Also feel bad for the Sox org and fans....at this point, you gotta wonder what kid of value you are going to get for the remaining 140 or so million. Really stinks that this is going to chew up another year. If I was a betting man, I would say you won't see him back until the ASB, and maybe not even then, at all.

I think the Sox trade Swihart when Pedrioa comes back. The Sox would benefit with having both Nunez and Holt on the bench. Swihart isn't playing, minus well trade him if you're not using him. I would trade Swihart and Vazquez to Miami for Realmuto if they’d do it. I think Swihart should be getting Sandy’s reps at the least and actually prefer him over Vazquez. They messed up Swihart and they’re messing him up more by not getting him PT, IMHO. I have previously advocated pursuing Realmuto....Swihart has no place on this team and we desperately need offense at order bottom. By no fault, he is unproven. Swihart and Vasquez will not net Realmuto. Throw in Chavis, Mata or both and we could be talking.

Pomeranz sitting in the low 90's this start. Much better.

I thought of thoracic outlet, but usually in athletes it has a musculoskeletal cause related to a chest or shoulder muscle injury. But yeah, numbness is a bad sign.

I'll admit I was only guessing the numbness part of both players and making that connection. I'm probably wrong Telson. I'm no doctor.

Now Pomeranz losing it and can't buy a curveball. Not going to do if he's just pumping 89-90 MPH straight fastballs with the occasional cutter to these hitters.

I'll just be happy with one win in this series. The Sox are really getting unlucky. Now Pomeranz has a fingernail issue on the mound right now.

I agree. I'd be pretty content with just winning a game. We're getting a lot of road games out of the way, and 1-2 is much better than 0-3.
