So when do we start thinking about trading/releasing Vasquez, or at least giving Swihart many more reps than currently and making Vasquez the odd man out? That extension is looking terrible. FYI Vasquez is already -1.0 bWAR this season, and that doesn't even factor in that pitchers seem to prefer pitching to Leon and see better results with Leon.

The reaction to a player being in a slump always seems to be: let's trade him when his value is at its lowest! If you think the extension is terrible then you're getting nothing for him. If you release him, then you've given up any chance that he can improve. Personally, I'm buying low on Vazquez stock. He'd gotten to be a decent enough hitter, especially in the second half last year. He's had a crummy quarter of a season; it happens. I'm optimistic he'll return to at least an adequate level.

They're not going to release Vazquez after signing him to a four-year deal this past offseason, so let's not even go there.

I went back and looked at highlights from JBJ’s 29 game hit streak. It looks like he stands straight up a bit more now then he did then and a handful of his hits went up the middle or opposite field which he definitely isn’t doing now

And Showalter is an idiot too. I feel like every post during an Orioles series should conclude with this timely reminder...as in "What stomach illness? J.D. is going to hit three bombs tonight. And Showalter is an idiot, too."

I think Pomeranz has thrown 2 pitches in the strike zone so far out of 12 pitches. And Showalter is an idiot too.

Pomeranz's velocity is still down and he's still getting rocked.

So apparently no blisters, hang nails, or other miscellaneous finger maladies in the first inning. I’m claiming that as a minor victory.

Devers for the finally made the right decision on the field to get that out. Good job.

Could have been a lot worse. He looked like he was going to walk as many people as it took to take him out.

Getting out of that with just one run feels like we already won that inning.

Mookie the best runner in baseball now has bought into the stupid baseball running philosophy.

Mookie the best runner in baseball now has bought into the stupid baseball running philosophy. I am so sick and tired of watching them run into outs on the bases. And Cora has the same response that they have to be smarter on the bases but nothing happens.

Drew needs to pitch an extra inning in the bullpen before he starts.

Has Nunez taken a walk all year? Even when he is up 3-0 in the count I know he won’t walk

Pomeranz should just go on the DL and let his fingernails grow in healthy.

Nunez needs to be on the second base bag to tag Machado. What in the world is he thinking out there?

I was thinking about it two weeks ago when someone ask if Swihart was enough for Realmuto. I suggested Vazquez and Swihart, but that wouldn’t be enpuygh either. I want to know why Cora keeps playing Nuñez as well - and allowing his team to run into outs. Mookie was just bad luck but Xander was out by several feet.

Pomeranz has been as much fun to watch this year as Dice-K and Buchholz at their worst. I don't know how he gets anyone out with a 60% strike rate and only 2 pitches, with one of them an 88 mph fastball that he can't locate at all.

Right now, you could throw two straight fastballs down the middle like Cobb did and strike JBJ out.

I'm having a hard time figuring out who's a worse at bat right now, JBJ or Vazquez.
