What’s the rotation next series? Price, ERod and Porcello. I think Cora said he is gonna give Porcello a break after Sunday.

Well, road games are tough to being with, and they're playing it safe. As long as they don't do this too much until the magic number gets lower.

12 pitches 4 hits 2 runs and 3 outs, a homer and a triple in there. Not missing many bats and the pen can't handle a lot of innings. Could be a long day for Vasquez on the mound.

Foltynewicz is nasty. I had to copy and paste his name because no way I was spelling that name right, even if I spelt it a thousand times.

Atlanta's walk up music is really weird. I just heard the ninja turtles theme song, and now the Batman theme song.

I don't want to see Velazquez starting any more games until after the Sox have clinched the East.
Alex Cora certainly chose the right day to rest his regulars!

Nice play by Phillips baserunning wise.
That may be Vazquez's first and only IBB all year.

I really like Phillips. The way he has gone about it this year and sticking it out when he has had chances to leave. He is genuinely happy to be back in the big leagues and it's nice to see.

I forgot the game started so early and read these comments before I looked at the score. 1 run deficit. No possible way they can come back from that.
Just saw the replay of the baserunning play going home by Phillips, which was awesome.

Probably try to get another inning out of Velazquez I guess? Only has 40 pitches.

Lol this game is playing out predictably so far. At this point, I'm going to laugh it off. I've never seen more of a punt in a game before in my life. I'm not bothered by it all though. Hopefully the Yankees lose and the magic number goes down anyways. Jen McCaffrey Verified account @jcmccaffrey 2h2 hours ago Cora has heard all of your complaints about today's lineup for the 96-win Red Sox and said: "We’ve got a No. 1 prospect at third base, an All-Star at short, an All-Star at second base, an All-Star at first and three first-rounders in the outfield."

Velazquez has bounced back nice since the first inning. This may be his last inning of work though with his spot in the lineup coming up to bat in the 5th though.

A bit of trivia. With Phillips now actually having played a game, we have (along with Kinsler and Pedroia) three gold glove all-stars (and potential hall of famers) at the same position. Has that ever happened before? I can't think of any threesome like that having played at the same position on the Sox. Granted they are all 35 and over. But its pretty astounding, just the same.

I wonder if Phillips might be an option next season for Pedey insurance. I can't handle another year of Nunez and Holt at 2B.
Not knowing about Pedroia's health is going to be a possible big issue and they need a decent plan B that isn't super expensive.

Interesting that they're probably going back to Wright for a 3rd day in a row. Great job by Velazquez.
They have some great PH options on the bench. Betts, Bogaerts, JDM, Kinsler, Nunez, Pearce

The fall or stall of Sam Travis' development the past 2 years has been one of the most underrated disappointments of the Sox system in recent memory. Travis was a high 2nd pick if my memory serves me correctly.
He seems like a non tender or DFA candidate once his option years runs out.

Acuna is 20 years old and has a .933 OPS. Geeze. That's incredible.
