Yes, he’s the type of guy, despite his age that Bill would deal something of value for. I want the LBer more than the WR frankly, he's a perfect fit for us.

I don’t know how those are contradictory. I just don’t believe the reports. There’s a lot of crap reported that’s not true. When has Bill ever traded a high draft pick for a player? Cooks who was incredibly young, good and had 2 years left on his rookie deal. He’s not trading a first or second for a loser like Thomas or an old expensive guy like Garçon. Mainly because you are just believing the parts you want too, getting another WR. While overlooking the rest of the report. Frankly I don't buy any of it, which is why I made my comments of being confused. It makes zero sense that the Patriots would be highly motivated to add another WR days away from the deadline. Yea it could make sense as a fallback option, but not our main goal. I'd bet they checked in on one player they really liked, were turned down and then we get this report. Yet if you got a report on every position they checked on you could likely do reports like this for almost every position. No i never said i believed the WR aspect i just made an argument as to why it’s not far fetched if they wanted one.

Per Rapsheet, Pats will be disciplining Gordon tonight for tardiness. He'll be missing some snaps, I guess.

Oh no Josh Gordon showed up late, the season is over! Gotta get another WR now! If that is the only issue in what 5-6 weeks, I feel very good about him. If there's more we can talk. He was never going to 100% change overnight. Just work hard and stay out of trouble. Which I think can happen for this season. Long-term is a whole different animal.

Josh Gordon just has never been dependable ever. That's the issue here. If Gordon is acting up by the end of this year, and the Patriots don't make backup plans for it, then it could cost them.
It's like you said Umass, the offense is going to have to get it done because this defense is termed average at best.
It's pretty bad that the Patriots might need to depend on this guy a little in order to win. It's scary, in fact.

There’s a lot more than that left in the season. He’s one step closer to being gone and he didn’t have a lot of steps to spare. Not good. If they can get a good receiver at a good price that they can control for s couple years. Not a bad move if another good player can’t be had.

Time to crap on the offense. Brady's worst game all year.
Running game completely non existent with Michel out. Patterson even getting snaps as a tailback.
Good thing Buffalo has no offense whatsoever right now.

Regular seasons are a wash. Really the biggest moment in a Patriots season are the acquisitions that might help them in the playoffs.

The problem with Gordon. His problems aren't isolated. They are constantly happening.
If you don't think this is a problem, you're being completely ignorant of the situation. I really don't know if Gordon makes it through the whole season with the Patriots if he isn't fully committed.

Well the reports of him sitting weren’t true so I’m taking the reports of him being late that are attached to them with a grain of salt but he is still a concern

All this talk about who the BB might want to trade for. Volin points out that Dorsett is an obvious name to keep an eye on going in the other direction.

Thomas going to the Texans for a mid round pick.... (told you he wasn’t being traded for a high pick)

Rob Gronkowski returning to form as an elite player, rather than merely a very good player, would be bigger than any acquisition they could make right now. I really thought Gronk would be an impact player last night after a week of rest and a game near his home town but it didn't happen. He's still one of the better TE's in football but his play has noticeably dipped across the board.

Tate to Philly per Schefter. 3rd founder is the price.

Golden Tate went to Philly for a 3rd.... that sucks because we have three 3rds.... wonder if they just didn’t want him or something bigger is coming.

If they can get a good receiver at a good price that they can control for s couple years. Not a bad move if another good player can’t be had. I have zero concerns over that report of him being late once. That is being blow out of proportion, like its some huge deal. Heck Predro thinks being late gets him cut. We have seen report after report that he is working very hard. I've seen reports that Brady has been late and Bill chews him out. Its not a big deal and I have zero concerns over it. Untill I hear something like he's late everyday and the Patriots actually punish him. Gordons basically whole issue has been getting suspended. He came into the league and was in our substance program from day one over weed. He gets tested more than anyone else and that resulted in a bunch of failed tests for weed. He's gotten help. I was impressed that he started training camp late to make sure he was good to go. It pissed off the Browns, but that was more a coach needing to win than anything else. He's a little goofy, he'll show up late a few times, yet he seems well liked by his teammates and doesn't seem like a bad guy. Kinda funny the games he missed over weed, when its now 100% legal in Mass and a bunch of other states! That's my worry that he tests positive and gets suspended and that is my only concern. Bill will live with everything else because A there really isn't anything there and B he works hard and seems to be a smart football junkie. How he picked up our offense was impressive and shows he's not Dez Bryant who frankly I think is more of a worry in the lockeroom. Hence why he was brought in. Gordan has also been back since last year, coming up on a full year and zero issues about weed. The Patriots are the perfect team for him, they will hold him responsible. You don't need to punish him for being late, the Veterans will ride him on it. So I'm just not that worried and without injuries or a Gordon suspension you won't have a ton of playing time for a new guy. So yea if you can get one dirt cheap and there was nothing else available I'm ok with that. I'm not going to make that my #1 need though and there are a bunch of positions where we are screwed if an injury happens.

Anyways, it’s good you aren’t worried, there’s no reason to worry about something you cannot control.

Rams got Fowler for a 3rd (19) and a 5th (20)... He’s a guy the Patriots maybe could have used.

Crazy, crazy returns for these trades. It's rare that a player traded in the middle of the season ever has a significant impact on his new team.
