Had to check the divisions to look up who's in the Chargers division. It's the Chiefs.
That's the Patriots saving grace from a 3 seed right now because the Chargers have a better record at the moment, but yet they're a wildcard team because of the Chiefs.

At least the Steelers (and Texans) lost and with Miami winning that makes the Baltimore loss more important for me. I'd love a way in which both Baltimore and Denver miss the playoffs.

Lol the Steelers did lose, huh?
That means the Patriots could conceivably lose next week and still "win" the 2 seed unless the Texans win their last 3 games.
The Patriots could win 11 games and get that 2 seed. Talk about pure luck. The NFL is bad this year.

Pedro I think the more correct view is the NFL is ultra competitive this year. Even your crappy teams have shown life with rookie QBs. Most years the worst team in the league can beat anyone, this year it's even more so. There is no Browns team that just flat out sucks and so many of the last place teams have major talent. Last place teams like the Falcons, Giants, Jags, Oakland, Detriot, heck even the Bills are competitive with Allen running like a RB. This is why people love the NFL.
Have we got a reason why Gronk was in the endzone when they were 70 yards out? In what world did they think they'd try a 70 yard bomb? I would have thought they try to get 15-20 yards on the sidelines quickly than take a shot or do what they did. Yet everyone in the endzone made that play work. That loss is on Bill! Should have tried for the TD that would have ended the game!

Should have tried for the TD that would have ended the game! Yeah, I have to agree. I yelled for them to go for the TD on 4th. Even if they didn't make it, they'd be on their own 3 yard line or whatever with no time outs and 15 seconds left. There was no chance that they'd ever be able to setup for a field goal unless there was a fluke penalty to go with a 60 yard gain. I also yelled about Gronk being on the field before the play happened. There was no chance in hell that was going to be a jump ball hail mary, which is the only time Gronk should ever be out there on defense since he knows nothing about angles or tackling. Hell, even any of the special teams players would have been better because it pretty much was like a kickoff return.

I don't know, this is Brady's worst year record wise since what 2006 or 2002?
I think it says more about how the Patriots are built. The defense is just so pedestrian. We can argue for days how that matters, but roster construction wasn't great outside of the offense this year.
Brady is going to need to do everything once again to win a superbowl. He's 41, wish the Patriots would give him a break.

I always root for the Pats but I mean this years roster is not my favorite. Brady deserves better.
I can see them getting to the AFC title game. With Brady he can pull that out and go to the Super Bowl.
I just hope this offseason they work the draft much better ,sign some of these Flowers please. Get back to building depth. I can’t believe there up against the cap for money. I feel like they did a poor job with the relievers and find another tight end.
I am still salty about not playing Butler in the Super Bowl. After Brady who knows with the Pats.

It's amazing how much Brady is skating on this. I don't disagree with what's being said but this year is also coming on the heals of Brady, for the first time, opting not to attend OTAs.

Offense looks like crap. Defense looks like crap. Not good so far, early in 3rd Q

Defense stiffened up. Offense error prone...too many penalties and an awful Brady INT. Gotta get the ball back now...3 min to go... And hope for a Brady winning drive

He hasn’t been very good all year. Bedard points out all the time about how the game film shows him making poor decisions so even if you want to blame it on something else you’re seeing on TV - Brady has been pedestrian all year (overall).

This was one of the most corrupt pieces of officiating I’ve ever seen.

It's hard enough to win on the road with a bunch of loud and obnoxious fans waving their stupid towels, but it's even more difficult with the officials throwing flags all the time. Even if the calls were correct most of the time. I was fine with losing this game but the previous game hurts even more now.
Edit: Hopefully the Steelers get the road/home karma and get ROCKED at New Orleans next week.

Not a good way to be stumbling toward postseason. Run defense is a joke. Team discipline is sliding. Key dropped passes, some bad Brady decision making. Something(s) amiss on this team. Lots to fix quickly.

It’s worth noting that McDaniels continues to be horrible as he has been all season.

When's the cuttoff when we all can admit this Patriots team isn't the same as most years?
The officials were terrible, but the Patriots were even worse.
Now you have to win the last 2 games, while hoping the Texans lose one of the next 2 games.

Pedro no blaming the D?
Ok was it me or was Gordon not on the field for that final play? Three guys tied to Gronk and yet no throw it up to Gordon? I don't blame McDaniels much, but that play calling was rather bad.

Both the offense and defense had stupid penalties all game Umass. The defense made 2 good turnovers and had a decent game. Now it's the offense that can't step up.
For whatever reason, this team can't go out of it's own way. Been saying it all year.
Just a incredibly soft football team that seems to not care as much about winning. QB not showing up for OTA's. Lazy penalties. Bad tackling all year.

Three road losses where they scored 10 points in each loss. To Detroit, Tennessee and Pittsburgh. Ouch.
I think we are finally seeing a combination of an ageing, declining, possibly injured top tier....the challenge of staying engaged and fired up after such a long run of dominance...even the loss of focus during games (dropped balls, penalties, INTs)...but all good things have to come to an end some day.
I expect them to win the last two games and perhaps a playoff game or two (perhaps) - but this is not Super Bowl champion level Patriots this year.

Josh Gordon stepping away from football for a while, per himself.
EDIT: Per RapSheet, he is facing indefinite suspension so he was gone either way.

I guess it ended with Gordon just as expected. Badly. Good luck to him, it sounds like between the lines he bought it about as well as could be hoped (maybe minus conditioning).
I think the team will still carry his rights should he ever get back. I think the Jaguars still have Justin Blackmon's rights.
ADD:
I'd say worth the pick swap, though opportunity cost of not adding a receiver that would still be here into the playoffs is a price too.

I guess this is just one of those things that no one can understand unless they went through it themselves or had a close family member do it. I find it incredibly sad to see such amazing talent wasted. He could have had a great life. I hope he finds peace and gets his life together.

Well, that is a very likely factor in how out of sorts the team was on Sunday (and recently). It is and will continue to be a grind for them. So sad....hoping Gordon can get himself straightened out.

This is why he was a risk. Did it stop them from getting another receiver that could have helped?
