Badler has been pushing Perales for a while now. Sounds like another potential cheap sign who pitches way above his bonus, a la Mata, Darwinzon, etc., if the info is legit.

Just a few pitches, but very nice arm-side run on the fastball, and (one) good-looking curve.

Looked like fastballs to me. Plus the one knee-buckler.

Hearing Perales isn't the only pitcher hitting 95 at the DR complex. Looks like another offseason rankings shuffle is coming.

Will be interesting to see if their info converges with your own. Perales has to be one of the J2 guys from this current period. As for the DSL squad, I'd bet on Bonaci as the popup guy (with Wilkelman Gonzalez and Darel Belen as other potential guys). Note -- Eduardo Lopez, Bryan Gonzalez, and Eduardo Vaughan already on their board.

Gabriel Jackson. Nathaniel Cruz. Names to add to your memory banks in addition to the above.
Also, others may be as happy to hear as I am that Jhostnyxon and Johnfrank are worth watching.

What about Yiddi Cappe? Has he signed with a team? Do the Red Sox have a chance to sign him?

What about Yiddi Cappe? Has he signed with a team? Do the Red Sox have a chance to sign him? I'm pretty sure he's rumored to have a deal in place with Miami but for the 2020-2021 period when MIA has more $ to offer. I don't see us swooping in during this period, nor do I see us allocating the type of $ it would require to sign him in the next period based on our recent spending strategy (e.g., greater number of midsize bonuses, heavy in VZ market).

Red Sox would seem to be one of the few teams with enough 2019-20 money to get this done before 7/2, if Colas is so inclined.

I thought this initially as well, but after Liu, I have them at $4,415,000 of their $5,398,300 spent. So $983,300 left, and there's a fair chance it's even less than that given the number of guys we don't know bonuses for. I don't think that'll get him to sign before July.

If he put up those numbers in Japan, doesn't that mean he is essentially ready for the majors? Could Boston give him the rest of the bonus money and sign him to a major league contract or a split minor/major league deal or would that money also count against the cap?

You have to be 25 to qualify as a foreign professional and not be subject to the bonus pools. I don't think he can sign a MLB contract. Victor Victor Mesa was about the same age, for reference, and he signed for 5.25M.

With the rest of the cap money should spend on 21yr Cuban outfielder Pedro Leon would be a nice finish to the 19-20 singing period

Got another update. $60,700 left. They're basically done. Maybe 1 or 2 more guys.
