If the Sox don't trade for cap money on July 2ish contracts, they would be in a better position to pursue future Japanese or Cuban free agents that might come available than they have in the recent past.

If he's 14 in that video, I like taking a chance on him as that's pretty impressive footage...as a high school baseball coach, he looks pretty good in the video for what would translate to a relatively young freshman in high school at 14 or a even an 8th grader....just saying

It's from March 2018. Presuming his birthday is between March and July, that's the guy.

Hmmm...Which one is he... Blue sweater and khakis... He could be 16 or 46 and I wouldn’t argue either way

Has there been any rumors on potential 23+ year old guys being posted from Japan?

In his Baseball America chat today Ben Badler said Luis Perales has the most buzz at the Sox Dominican academy.

Interesting development here: We were once rumored to be the favorites to sign Jhon Diaz, and then it was later reported that the Yanks were the favorites. In fact, I had thought they had signed him but it looks like he just signed with the Rays. Just speculating here: but now that most teams are out of any international penalty zone, few teams are looking to sell off their cap space. Very few international bonus $ trades were made around July 2. My guess is that the Yanks had agreed to some sort of terms w/ Diaz but couldn't find a trade partner to acquire his bonus $. Reminder, they spent most of their pool money on the Martian.
