Not sure where I'd find this information, so to whoever is better at mining baseball data than me, is there a way to look at his 2 strike splits? I'm especially interested in how his SLG% drops with that stance. I get it's to become more contact-oriented and I'm sure it works to that regard I'm just generally curious if he's still accessed power with it.

I don't know how to get that split for a minor leaguer, but he was using that stance all the time when he struggled through April 2019. In May he went to only using it with 2 strikes and took off.

Splits with 2 strikes will be a little misleading because there will be a lot more strikeouts.

Splits with 2 strikes will be a little misleading because there will be a lot more strikeouts. Maybe just a comparison of IsoP between two strike and non-two strike counts? Anything with OBP or OPS would definitely be skewed. BABIP wouldn’t be too bad either as a lazy signal although there would be SSS issues there

You’ll have to adjust any metric to compare it to league average with two strikes. As you would expect, players make softer/worse contact with two strikes league-wide since there are a lot more defensive swings to protect the plate. fantasy.fangraphs.com/two-strike-counts-and-weak-contact/

Yeah but whether or not he's in a visibly different stance, his approach with 2 strikes or not would be different obviously.
You'd need a control value to compare his numbers to or some kind of wRC+/OPS+ value that does that for you to make the data useful.
Edit: what jmei said

The term of art: it has to be normalized. It's only relevant with a context, and the context is the league he's playing in.

Hate to bring up the one that got away, but that’s what our second pick in 2021 was trying to do with two strikes to cut down strikeouts, hit with a wide stance and no step, with some but perhaps not enough success (this was the attempted adjustment Keith Law denied had ever happened)

Nine games left in the season. Should at least have time to get a couple Coney Island dogs.

At some point we have to think of Casas contributing next year. Maybe in June?

Is Casas the better prospect than Rizzo was Rizzo was around 20 and Casas seems to be at around that same spot. Rizzo had a better glove from what I remember but there were concerns since he lost almost a year to cancer. Might be too early to tell as Casas could still rise in the rankings this offseason.

Oppo with his 2 strike crouch stance too. That's a beautiful sight to see.
