You'd hate to send Chavis down to make room for Nunez, but you'd also hate to lose Nunez I for one would love to lose Nunez. I for two agree.

Here's the thing I cannot help thinking about. If Machado didn't take out Pedey's knee 2 years ago, then arguably, he'd still have a knee that allows him to play. Him playing last season would have made it so that Nunez would not have been on the team and we wouldn't have traded for Kinsler and still had Buttrey, who looks like exactly what the Red Sox need right now. So this season is all Machado's fault. /snark the Nunez snark is deserved, but the play he made (and Pearce) to end game 4 of the ALDS was awesome.....that's it. That's the funny irony of things. When Nunez is gone, I'll remember with that series on the line - he made that play, albeit with help from Pearce, but it was a do or die play with the crowd at Yankee Stadium going nuts and thirsting for Red Sox blood, and as terrible as he is defensively, he made it and shut up those fans. And yeah, the big WS Game 1 3-run HR, the first Red Sox PH 3-run World Series HR since Bernie Carbo in 1975, 43 years earlier. Of course the next PH 3-run HR in the WS occurred merely 3 games later thanks to Mitch Moreland. Contrast that with Ian Kinsler, the Gold Glove caliber 2b, who spit the bit when the Red Sox could have put a complete stranglehold on the Dodgers in Game 3. If he didn't choke during that play, the Dodgers would not have been let back into that series. Fortunately, the Dodgers were more concerned with resting their best relievers and their manager and starting pitcher couldn't even speak plain english to each other to communicate what they were thinking, so Kinsler got away with making a huge blunder and wound up with a World Series ring.

Two of Porcello’s better innings this season.
And Michael Chavis keeps hitting.

Chavis has been absolutely huge for this team. Nunez has to go.

Who’s the pudgy guy who just got a base hit RBI? Couldn’t have been Sandy Leon.

Devers snake bit so far with an 0-2 line on 110 and 105 EVs, meanwhile Chavis is 2-2 with 80 and 73 EVs.

I’m pretty sure I pull harder for Jackie Bradley to get a hit in AB after AB than I do for anyone else. Right now Chavis is second on that list. The one guy I think “needs” my help. The other is just fun to pull for.

JBJ not lifting anything. Everything on the ground. Time for an analysis of his new batting stance.

Leon in the batters box feels like Mantle compared to JBJ

Benni has definitely bought into the first pitch strike swinging Cora wants to instill. Will it rough off? Maybe Xander will start doing that more often, because nobody gets more middle pitches for strike one and admire it.

Lol I love Eck so much, on Moreland's HR: "...and he gets a two seamer that doesn't sink! Yeah, it sunk over the fence is what it did!"
