i saw some concerns about our first inning performance this year...perhaps we should leave Devers in the second spot when Benny is back, he's clearly a better hitter than him now.

Sale hiding an injury? Very un-Sale like yet again. Fenway is not a good place for him this year so far

Woah. Sale looks like hot garbage today. What's going on with him lately?

Is Jose Rondon so awful that they don't trust him to swing against a Chris Sale with less than stellar stuff to the point where they figure, "just get the runner to 2nd, even if that puts us at 2 outs"?

The two really bad moves Dombrowski has made are : 1. Trading for Sale. 2. Extending Sale.

Okay now 6 CONSECUTIVE AT-BATS in which Devers has either doubled or hit one off the Green Monster.

no all star votes? Cora will take him to the allstar game, maybe as a coach.

But he's leading the league in intangibles. Well he is the Former "Next Derek Jeter." (at least according to Brian Cashman late last decade as to why he wouldn't include Nuñez in a Cliff Lee deal).

The two really bad moves Dombrowski has made are : 1. Trading for Sale. Got team a ring.2. Extending Sale. I root for Sale every time he pitches and expect near greatness, but I am still on the record that this is a mistake given 1) That I covet Cole over Sale (so my malfunction if I'm wrong) and, more important 2) The extensive negative data on long-term high dollar extensions for pitchers over 30 combined with Sale's injury history.

The big mistake was not waiting until the end of the season. It perplexed me when people called this a discount. It was near-market value at best. Given his history of breaking down and questionable health, I'd rather wait the year and risk having to go to 35 a year instead of paying him 30 outright. At this rate, it's questionable if he'd have gotten 30 per over 6.

Meanwhile Lopez has a 6.35 ERA and a 5.95 FIP.
I mean really.

You can't just assume that they can sign Cole though (especially to a deal they're comfortable with) and that's what you have to do when deciding to let Sale walk.

Well, we just have to keep chipping away. Two runs against this staff should be nothing. Important win to grab (aren't they all?)

Xander plays short with the same style and grace that JBJ plays center and Mookie plays right. Such a pleasure to watch defensive excellence in so many positions game after game.

But defensive runs still hates him so idk. He's -9 DRS this year.

I watch baseball - I use my eyes, and my 50 plus year experience. Count me in as advanced stat utterly disinterested!
