I hate to say it but, this is not a Super Bowl team. Maybe something will change when Wynn comes back. It definitely would if Gronkowski did. We’ll know tomorrow on that. Best players yesterday were the kickers and Endleman. That’s not saying a whole lot.
They say that defense wins championships, so I guess there is hope.

If you think what the Patriots are after 10 games is what the team definitely will be by the playoffs then I’m not sure you’ve paid that much attention to them over the years... Also, watch the other teams... you’ll feel better

Yes, I know they always get better towards the end, but you need the players to do it. Tom didn’t look too happy after the game yesterday. I wonder what exactly he was thinking. Give me some protection? Give me someone to throw to? I wish I had a tight end? Something.

The Eagles defense played the best they did all year. It really helped that they weren't missing their 4 top cornerbacks like usual. That was actually a great defensive battle. I was a bit surprised they pulled out the trick play for a regular season game.

Wynn should clearly help, but he isn't the only issue, not even close. Brady had tons of time to throw on multiple occasions and no one could get open. Edelmans drop in the endzone was huge. Yet Brady missed on a ton of throws all day long. Those screen plays weren't working because Brady missed a bunch of easy throws. Something we've seen throughout his career, but he normally has a bunch of times were he gets locked in and we really haven't seen that this year.
I think a big part of it is they get Sanu, but then dump Gordon. A guy Brady put in a ton of time to develop chemistry with. It was like one step forward and one step backwards. Now you are forcing him to learn Chemistry with two rookie WRs, something he's hated his entire career. They make mistakes, run the wrong routes and generally take a year to fully make an impact in the NFL. I have faith they will work it out, but it's easy to see why he's upset.
Another big issue is they don't seem to have any good blocking TEs. Like usually if your LT struggles you move a TE over there to add extra protection or chip block the guy to slow him down. Izzo who was known as a blocker hasn't looked very good in that role when healthy, heck he looks better catching the ball. This is also an issue in the running game. We should try what the Ravens did in bringing in a few extra linemen to run the ball.
Otherwise when Wynn gets back they should go hurry up with 5 wide, because it doesn't seem like we'll be able to be a power running team this year. No fullback and we don't have two elite blocking TEs like last year. Which is a shame, because that's what would be perfect with this D.

I also wondered (at the time of the play) if BB/JM had a little extra-incentive given their failure (and Philly's success) to execute a trick play in the SB.

Cutting Gordon was stupid. LaCosse is garbage. Not sure why he is still on the team.

NESN reporting that Sanu could miss some time (ankle). He, along with Dorsett (Concussion) were listed as DNP yesterday.
EDIT - But Jeff Howe is reporting that there is optimism on Dorsett (though he adds the appropriate "you never know with concussions" caveat)

There’s undercurrent momentum building that Brown could possibly return. Rumor has it Jonathan Kraft asked AB to issue that apology. I’d take him back in a nanosecond.

For a team that focuses so much on special teams it's kinda Crazy that Bolden has been our #1 kickoff returner and Sanu is returning punts.

I thought reports said the minute he signs he'll go on the commissioner list till the investigation is finished? Isn't that why no one has signed him? Feels like we'd be selling our souls if we bring him back.

Reports now have both Sanu/Dorsett at practice (capacity/participation level unclear).

With regards to AB, I think Kraft went to Goodall and asked if the Pats signed Brown, would he be suspended? If the answer was probably, then there would be no reason to sign him. He’s not suspended now because he i

I believe free agents can be suspended though. Clock doesnt start until they sign (I would think) but the announcement can be made.
