I think this is true for the playoffs too... I bet Taco actually gets “action” in a bunch of games just guarding in-bounders at the ends of quarters.

This number surprised me: 55.4: Celtics’ assist percentage Consider this a reminder that this Celtics team isn’t like the groups of yesteryear. Throughout the Stevens era, Boston has typically handed out a bunch of assists. Even last year, through all the infighting, the Celtics ranked eighth in assist percentage. They have finished in the top half of the league in that category every season since Stevens’ first. The streak will come to a close as soon as this season concludes. That 55.4 number leaves the Celtics 25th in assist percentage. They are 21st in passes per game. They launch pull-up 3-pointers at a rate second only to James Harden’s Rockets. They run more pick-and-rolls and they don’t swing the ball as much as they used to. The Celtics don’t have a long list of crafty passers. Hayward and Smart are probably the team’s two best passers, but the offense often runs through other players. Walker can find the open man, but isn’t a maestro like some other top point guards. Tatum and Brown have developed with their reads, but still don’t see the court perfectly. Boston should grow as those guys become more aware, but a high assist percentage does not necessarily correlate to a good offense. This year’s Celtics have shown that, currently ranking fifth in total offensive efficiency despite their overall lack of ball movement. theathletic.com/1953558/2020/07/27/10-numbers-to-define-celtics-in-nba-playoffs/

www.google.com/amp/s/www.nytimes.com/2020/07/29/sports/basketball/nba-china-abuse.amp.htmlIt’s disturbing that the NBA and we as people continue to support such an abusive regime. This is a country that reportedly has millions if people in slavery and concentration camps yet we pretend like nothings going on. The only difference between China and Nazi Germany seems to be that China isn’t officially invading other countries (although Taiwan and Hong Kong would disagree). We are all screwed up; I know I am because despite knowing this, I’m still going to support the Chinese government by pumping my money into it.

Alannis Morrisette screwed up the definition of ironic for me but that Rudy Gobert scored the first NBA points of the restart is a thing, right?

Few things in life more impressive than Marcus Smart playing defense. He's keeping us in this game.

I've been watching the NBA for over 20 years now and I don't remember a single worse call than overturning that play, that was a clear offensive foul. This is bullshit.

So let's break this down, shall we?
Giannis punches Theis in the gut? No call despite being reviewed. How can you review that and don't call it a foul? Clear charge being overturned into a block. Smart was planted outside the zone when the contact is done.
I mean damn, two egregious calls. The NBA could not make this any more obvious. Screw this game. Screw this league. Screw China as well while we're at it.

That's what superstars get in the NBA. On the bright side we showed fight when only a few guys had good games.

Old friend Al Horford a -26 tonight. Simmons -11 despite having a pretty good line. This 76ers roster is a mess. They may even make a deep post-season run because of all that talent, but seriously this is a VERY poorly built roster. How can you luck into 2 generational talents in Embiid and Simmons and somehow mess up the only thing you need to do (surround them with shooters), instead go for the one thing you should NOT do (add more guys to pack the paint).

Not enough time most likely to just change your whole system and Gel. That can take half a season or more.
TJ Warren goes off. I always liked him, yet never thought he could do that.

No one lets an opponent go on a massive run without using a timeout quite like Stevens.

Grant Williams and Semi are major weak links. Williams is a smart player, yet he's so limited as an athlete and is small. His shot doesn't look good. He needs to spend every minute practicing his 3 point shot.

The talent is there for this team to make a deep run, but they lose focus for long stretches too often for that to happen. Sometimes it’s to start the game, sometimes it’s in the middle, but it happens far too often.

From an asset point of view you want Portland to win, Knock the Grizz pick down to 14.

At some point, it needs to be acknowledged that Brad is good at building a team but he’s a bad in-game coach.

Nurkic showing exactly why old school bigs are still useful in today's NBA.

The NBA needs to overhaul the current referee leadership that’s in place. Time to clean house of these bozos.
