No games today but the players voted to resume playoffs. That was quick... It's the only thing that makes sense. They made a point, they got the whole Country listening. If you cancel the season, within a week they have no voice. Playing they get a voice almost daily for a much longer period of time.

Like any movement, I'm not sure where they go from here, but I back the players 100%. I am very interested to see what colesses from their meetings. My biggest fear for them, their kin, and the country is the only way the systemic racism changes in this country is by civil war. I'm afraid far more people are going to die before any of the issues that plague our society are even partially resolved. I really feel we don't live in the same Country.

Oh we live in the same country, we just don't apparently share the same perspectives. I see so much fear and hatred and violence on display in a very public fashion, and I see a society that has diminished the value of intelligence in favor of personal beliefs, and I see far too many people not willing to be introspective and incapable of empathy. There's always an inflection point, and we're racing towards it right now. That's all I'll say on the topic, it looks like the players decided to continue playing, I hope they use the platform they are given as a few on here have suggested, I'm sure there is a way the NBA can help amplify the message, and I hope other sports follow suit.

I don’t think we want to get off the rails and go down this road.
Let’s talk some Raptors.

I don’t think we want to get off the rails and go down this road. Let’s talk some Raptors. Guard their guards, don't focus so much on Siakam or Anunoby, have Jaylen guarding Ibaka like he did to Horford, rotate the ball when they trap, beat the living sh*t out of their zone and most important of all, always take the extra pass because they close out with VERY high energy, which means they leave other spots very open. It's obviously not that simple. They're a VERY good team and a very well coached one. But it's gettable.

I want Theis guarding Ibaka, I want Brown guarding guys like VanFleet and Powell along with Smart. I think the Raptors are in for a wake up call frankly. They just played a rather bad team and are now walking into a defensive monster. Hayward injury hurts depth, yet starting Smart likely helps against that team. Theis, Tatum, Brown and Smart is likely the best group of four defenders in the league and to stop the Raptors you need to limit their guards. It looks like the worst type match-up for the Raptors. 4-2 Celtics all day long! I really don't fear that team, good solid team. Yet no one player that can destroy you.

I think Theis and Brown should take turns on Ibaka to offer him different looks, unlike Embiid he can actually shoot. And not when they're running a 3 guard lineup. Overall I agree with your take, the Raptors are a crafty high energy group. That's beatable in the playoffs.

Theis at center can guard Ibaka on the perimeter and in the post like very few centers can. Unlike a guy like Allen. It's really what makes Theis the defender he is, he can guard at all three levels. They won't get so many easy three's like they did against the Nets.

I think the Raptors Are gonna have real difficulty defending the 3. There is no matchup problem that Toronto poses for the Celtics.

Lowry and that ankle could be a key in the series.

After giving up two wide open Ibaka threes, Stevens has to yell at Williams to guard him at the perimeter. Two possessions later he gives up two free throws on a late close out.
Has this kid done any homework on this team? This would be a 20 point game if Williams just realized Ibaka can’t shoot open threes.

Since when does Jaylen take a technical FT?

Since when does Jaylen take a technical FT? That was weird with him having FT after, can you switch?

Yet Williams basketball IQ on D isn't good.

Raptors coach after Walker three was priceless. You are no longer playing the Nets!

Daniel Theis is a pain in the butt and that’s a good thing on a team of nice guys

Since when does Jaylen take a technical FT? Yeah that was my reaction as well, like wtf lol. Anyway, very complete game by the Cs. Smart offense, INSANE discipline on defense, aside from some dumb turnovers and occasional lazy boxouts, it was about as perfect as one could expect. It goes to show how little I understand about basketball that I advocated against this starting line-up, but they found SOMETHING there. Smart played absolutely out of his mind.

Great win - loved that they never really let them back in the game (unless i missed it by not seeing the 4th).... hopefully, they can take it to them again. I’m not over reacting to one game. I expect a long series.

They are a pesky team, I stand behind my 4-2 prediction. Yet it's a horrible match-up for them. They want to wear you out, be physical and play off that. The Celtics can do the exact same thing with more offensive firepower.
Smart went off, yet they kept leaving him open. That will be a mistake all series, the guy makes plays and he's not bad at wide open three's. Creating off the dribble is another story.
Stevens kinda shocked me with Williams after he fell out of the rotation kinda against the Sixers. Yet it was kinda brilliant to help limit their fast breaks and open court game. Which is key against that team. They don't look good in the half court, not against our D.
We'll see how good their coach really is. Seems kinda clear that Gasol doesn't fit and slows them down. Does he start Ibaka?

6 games is a deep series in my opinion. Good breakdown in the Athletic on the adjustments Stevens made against the Toronto D. Will be interesting to see how Nurse counters after seeing the film.
Also, Toronto missed a lot of looks and Smart was hot so we will see how that evens out.

Also, Toronto missed a lot of looks and Smart was hot so we will see how that evens out. They shot some really bad ones too, especially when the Cs went cold early in the 2nd and late in the 3rd. A lot of their open looks were out of rhythm or at funky spots. It was a terrible game by the Raptors and a fantastic game by the Cs, but this series is going to be close. However, what should be scary for the Raptors is that Tatum had just 21 points. Brown had 17 and shot 6-18. If they go supernova, I don't think the Raptors can counter.
