I say get rid of Bloom today before he makes things worst. I certainly don’t want him in charge at the trade deadline.

I’m dead serious, I think he’s incompetent & if he’s allowed to be in charge to make moves & build this team it’s going to get real bad & will be for a long time. I think he’s the wrong person to be in charge & should be fired immediately.

Just as long as you understand that literally every other person vehemently disagrees with you and your idea has no chance at coming true.

I'll hang up and listen.

I will hate Bloom and curse him til the day he dies for trading Mookie, but.... no. He hasn’t done anything that wasn’t a response to the situation he found on arrival. Let’s see what he does for a couple years before deciding. Also, let’s how Nick Yorke works out. That was a head scratcher for some people, but the Sox seem to believe in the kid. If he hits, it looks like genius. If not, we can look back on it as a bad pick. But that needs time.

This conversation might begin to sort of get somewhat interesting if you would actually say what actions he's taken that you disagree with, and what you think he should have done instead.

Keep in mind he had one less draft pick (Again not Bloom's fault!!) so he decided to draft a guy who might be a 2nd round pick so he could save money to draft Blaze Jordan who went in the 3rd round (they didn't have a 2nd round pick) but could have went in the second round. So in a way to evaluate you have to package Blaze Jordan with Nick Yorke. I think of them as 2+2 rather than as 1+3 if you know what I mean.

How are y'all gonna hate Bloom for trading Mookie? Do you think that was a demand he made when he took the job? Like I'll sign on, but you gotta let me make this team worse. It was 1000% ownership, and despite everyone knowing he had to be traded, he got a good young outfielder, a top 100 prospect, and a wildcard in Wong.

Doubt that ownership would fire him now after hiring him a matter of months ago. Doesn't look good for those keeping up appearances.
But the starting pitching is awful, made up of guys he brought in. Not his fault about Sale and E-Rod. But he has so far botched up the replacement roster.

Tell me, with 0 available dollars (in actuality, negative dollars), what would you have to to fill the rotation? Should he have gotten Cole to sign for 10 years for just the love of the game?

Really, it is more about upside. If they got him right, it is a great scouting job.

But when I think of him and Jordan as a package deal it kind of makes sense. No 2nd round pick so pick 2 2nd round types instead of a 1st and a 3rd. We'll see if he's right. I'll put it this way. I like Yorke's chances better than Cannon, the 2b they drafted first last year.

Don't have a blueprint. Just looking at the sorry excuse for starting pitching he brought to this team. No, I wouldn't have given Cole a ten year contract. And it's folly that he would have done so "for the love of the game".

Things Chaim signed up for:
A cheating scandal
Having his manager be suspended for a year
Losing chris sale
A pandemic giving your #2 starter heart issues
Losing a 2nd round draft pick
Taking the heat for ownership demanding he trade the heart of the franchise
Devers forgetting how to hit/field
Benintendi looking like the kid in little league who can't play a lick, but his dad insists he does.
JD Martinez not being able to hit without a video room A rebuild

Now it is just up to the kid to work hard and catch some breaks. But yeah, higher hopes than Cannon, Chathem, Decker.

He's been GM for over 6 months and has failed to: Sign Cole to a 10/$550M deal....STRIKE ONE!!! Retroactively draft Trout,Gore and DeGrom....STRIKE TWO!!! Clone Ted Williams, Pedro Martinez and Cy Young....STRIKE THREE!!!.....YOU'RE OUT!!!

Tell me, with 0 available dollars (in actuality, negative dollars), what would you have to to fill the rotation? Should he have gotten Cole to sign for 10 years for just the love of the game? Don't have a blueprint. Just looking at the sorry excuse for starting pitching he brought to this team. No, I wouldn't have given Cole a ten year contract. And it's folly that he would have done so "for the love of the game". The only starting pitching he brought to the team was Martin Perez, who has been exactly what you could've hoped for. When he came in, the rotation was Sale, Price, ERod, Eovaldi, and an acquisition. He filled the acquisition. He traded Price to fill the ownership edict to get under the CBT and the plan was to string it together in that one spot. Then he lost the no 1 and 3 starters. What starting pitching did you want him to bring in at that point with, as freddysthefuture points out, no money to spend? "He should've done a better job!" "How?" "Don't know, but he should've!" That makes no sense.
