I'm starting to think this Bloom guy knows what he's doing. Totally getting my hopes up for the Osich return.

Looks like Bloom did damn good in the Pillar deal. This looks like a guy, according to the scouting reports, has a really decent chance to be a useful if not impactful arm out of the bullpen. Five or six years of that is a steal for a guy like Pillar who wasn't going to do much for the Red Sox for this month anyways. I like it.

Love this trade, you really couldn't have expected more. Sign two low cost free agent and get three guys that are top 20 most likely.

MLB Pipeline has put him at #24. Likely just a horizontal slide.

Born in Lawrence Massachusetts and grew up in Methuen. Jacob Wallace is a local kid who grew up rooting for the team he could play for soon. Definitely a feel good story if he makes it to the show. Hopefully a future setup man or closer someday for the Sox. Similar to the Manny Delcarmen story. Except for the part where Wallace was traded for instead of drafted, of course.

The Red Sox desperately need arms, if Wallace means one less pitcher with an ERA over seven is on the roster, I’m all for it.

MLB Pipeline has put him at #24. Likely just a horizontal slide. That feels pretty close. With a relief-only profile, sliding in next to Zeferjahn, who is currently at 20 seems right. I’d say 20-23.

Where does he rank? 18-22? Not a perfect comparison but when Durbin Feltman was in the top 20 he ranged from 9-17 and I'd imagine Wallace will probably be in the back half of that range, 15-17 Not to go off topic, but what’s the deal with Feltman? Command issues? I had high hopes for a quick path to the big league pen for him, but he seems to have fizzled.

From what I understand they tinkered with him a bit and the stuff hasn’t really been as good as advertised

The "college reliever we just drafted might be ready for the majors this year!" keeps falling flat. With those expectations now in check, hopefully the pressure will be off Feltman some and he'll make the step forward. Hopefully that will be something of a lesson for the Wallace development.

When will Jacob Wallace be added to the prospect rankings?

Does anyone know if he was on Colorado's 60 man. He's going to Pawtucket but I don't know if he'll pitch against live batters. Only a few days left there.

I appears he was not. Not sure if they had to phantom add him to complete the transaction or what, but there's nothing about him being assigned there in any log I can see.

Then if he is on the way, it will likely be more of intro stuff. Maybe a bullpen or two. Methuen to Pawtucket should be an easy drive.
