Drama right now is with the Giants, who can snatch the 8 seed from the Brewers ... they're down 5-4 with 1 out and nobody on in the bottom of the 8th.

If you look at it from a glass half full perspective, the fourth pick is still really good, there will be a lot of great guys available. The Red Sox are also a better team than a lot of the teams that will pick behind them. We're also just better than the Tigers, even with a lot of the terrible pitching we had this year. I don't disagree there. When ERod went down, I said I would be very happy with a #5 pick. #4 is fantastic.

I followed the Tigers the last few days: This is some sorry a** team lol You look at the lineup and you find guys OPSing .600 hitting cleanup 😂 They deserve every single bit of that 3rd pick.

I'll take the 4th pick for sure, should be interesting to see how Bloom does in this draft.

good for young Jonathan Arauz; really like the kid, didn't embarass himself this year given the circumstances.

Damn. The Twins are still tied 2-2 with the Reds in the 9th, and if they lose, they get the 3 seed and host ... the Yankees. And they never beat the Yankees!

Giants lose, Brewers will face the Dodgers instead of them.
Oh, and Microsoft Edge is unimaginably bad as a browser.

StL wins, clinches 5 seed, which pushes MIA to 6 and CIN to 7. SF lost ... eliminated. PHIL lost eliminated. WEDNESDAY #8 MIL @ LAD #1 #7 CIN @ ATL #2 #6 MIAMI @ CUBS #3 #5 STL @ SD #4 TUESDAY #8 TOR @ TB #1 #7 CHISOX @ #2 OAK #6 HOUS @ #3 MINN #5 NYY @ #4 CLE STL vs. DET on Monday is cancelled. EDIT: I like these matchups. NYY would play TB in next round. There is no RE-seeding between rounds.

Sad as it may be, if the Yankees and Astros meet, I'd actually root for the Yankees.

Its been a few years since I've seen Cleveland spank the Yankees in the playoffs.

well that's it for the Sox. Despite a tough year, many positives to take away towards the end. Excited to see what Bloom does this offseason.

They lost when we wanted them to win, and they won when we wanted them to lose. Frustrating is the right word to describe this season.
Regardless, the end of this season reminds me a lot of the end of the 2015 season. We have a lot to look forward to next year.

Especially given the Reds likely piling it on in the top of the 10th (up 4 to 2, base full, 1 out)

Could not disagree more [about rooting for Yankees > Astros] Sounds like this guy needs to spend some more time around Yankee fans. My closest friend in baseball fandom is Cecilia Tan, who co-edited the BP Annual in 2012-13 and is now SABR's Director of Publications. We've been to a lot of games together. She's such a big Yankees fan that she has season tickets even though she lives in Cambridge. Hanging out with her over many years, my former unilateral hatred for the Yankees has softened a great deal.
I have still never rooted for them.
