Tatum with a well-earned benching here early. He got fouled and didn’t get the call, so he decided to just not get back and leave his team at a disadvantage. This entire team complains way too much, and it causes them to lose focus.

There is absolutely no creativity in the Celtics’ offense. It’s essentially 1-2 passes into a forced 3-pointer, and if that doesn’t work, one of their perimeter players is going iso.
It’s not a surprise Stevens’ teams are always near the bottom of the list of free throws attempts, even though they have the personnel to get to the line more often.

This is a lazy, unintelligent basketball team led by a coach who refuses to change his ways. It’s embarrassing to watch them get run out of the building by a Nuggets team missing its second best player.

Sweet baby Jesus it looks like I picked a bad game to miss. 31-8 in the 4th, whew! Incredible game man. Basically Jaylen, Kemba and Tatum started drive city, and the Celtics played so pissed and focused after JayMichal Green hard fouled Romeo. Everyone got pissed and it was amazing to see them go into attack mode on both offense and defense. Grant Williams was an absolute force all game and was as mad as I've ever seen after Romeo got fouled. Amazing game. The Celtics look like a problem with Romeo-Grant lineups defensively, and an attack led by multiple tough scorers (if they bring it to the hoop like tonight). They may end up being way better post ASB than I could have imagined.

There's a lot of reasons to be excited about this team, they have so much potential to give teams some odd fits. Grant and Romeo don't have a reliable offensive game, but they flat out contribute. And Fournier is still missing. Once he gels, I can see it.

I can't remember the last time I saw a good team just give up like the Nuggets did in the 4th last game. I mean Jokic just gives up because he can't score on Grant Williams, yeah I just lost a ton of respect for him.
It's funny because I was going to say Steven's needed to have practices without allow them to shoot three's and bam they switched over to attack mode. The second half was more like last year's playoffs. We could get easy two point baskets and the other teams couldn't.
Now let's go get that 4th spot!

It let me access it. I mentioned something along these lines a while back when Tatum started the year going to the rim poorly after looking better last year. He developed it during the season last year also and is doing the same this year, hopefully he doesn't regress again next year. Brown is much the same and it shows their age and that there is still progress to be made, which is a great thing. Good to see the defensive intensity come back in that Denver game, that is their bread and butter. Looking forward to what that 2nd unit will look like with Fournier back draining some 3's. The pic of Tatum in that piece also shows how much he has developed physically.

Jason Tatum has stopped creating so many three pointers. I kept pointing out that only 37% of his 3 pointers being assisted was a crazy number. Well in a rather short time he's already up to 42.8% now. You want his iso game attacking the rim, not creating three pointers off the dripple.
This is starting to feel like 2018, where Steven's used the end of the year to finally mold that Celtics team into a team. No Hayward or Irving injuries, just getting healthy and trades finally balancing the roster. No more two big lineups, finally have a defensive wing. Once you get Fournier back you can go defense or offense. The only difference is this team is deeper and much more experienced than the 2018 team.
Some of the haters on Danny's drafting need to watch that video of Langford. It's not just us being homers. There's a reason Danny's so high on him. He's been just focusing on D so far, yet look at those moves and that ball handling. Look at his athletic ability. Langford is still just 21 years old, learning to play the right way.

Absolutely fantastic win! It got dicey late, but Tatum once again delivered.

Kemba was penetrating and facilitating in the spurts of game I saw. They’re a different offense when he’s feeling explosive enough to do that

Unless the NBA changes and D doesn't mean as much in the playoffs that list is crazy.
Hardest thing to do in the NBA is have your best player be horrible at D. It can work in the regular season where offense matters more. Yet defense is just different in the playoffs, teams actually play 100% all out D every game, something no team does during the regular season.
Biggest difference no one is really talking about is Tatum at PF versus SF. It changes everything and at PF is where Tatum is a near elite player on D, not SF. He has a quickness advantage at PF that he doesn't have at SF. It just changes everything, I can't stress that enough.

How do you still somehow show touch on that shot? Unbelievable. Dude's a killer. He's tripping over and somehow manages to shoot it before he steps into the line and it looks very smooth, close to a no doubter. Unreal.

R Williams not playing tonight due to knee pain and Tatum revealing he is just now feeling 100% along with saying he has been using an inhaler before games are good examples of people not knowing all the facts and posting negative comments.
That was an epic run on sentence violation.
Stevens eludes to managing Williams minutes all the time but people still vilify him for not playing him more. And that information on Tatum is revealing and also very encouraging for the future.
