Rosario is back in the lineup after leaving the game early yesterday. No explanation was given but looks like it’s not an injury, or at least a serious one.
Connor Wong gets the start at 2B. First time with the Sox playing the field other than catcher.
I read somewhere that Cora said they'd want him to play exclusively at catcher to start the season but I guess having Chavis and Arauz with the big league club made their infield depth thin.

"Red Sox win the World Series! 5 to 1 the final tonight and the best team in baseball wins it all in 2018!" Joe Buck 10/29/2018
The Sea Dogs have walked EIGHT TIMES in the 7th inning, including four straight with the bases loaded.
You know it is bad when the visiting pitcher FINALLY throws a strike, and the home crowd applauds with (admittedly sarcastic) enthusiasm. Fisher Cats shortstop Vinny Capra had to pitch and got the final out of the frame, which was actually the 8th inning. As a photographer, when the game is tied at home in the late innings, this is maybe not what you dream of.
Gilberto showing a good hit tool. Hopefully if he shows the goods over 30-40 games they advance him. It already looks like he is above the skill level in low A.

My guess is they want him working on incorporating the swing changes he worked on at Instructs the past 2 years at that level. He's still pretty slaptastic.
I mean, if he's Juan Pierre then fine, but ideally you do what you can to try and let him become more than that.

"We really don't need the whole commercial break/warm-up routine every time a new reliever comes into the game. It certainly made sense in 1884 when they only switched pitchers when the starter was attacked by pickaxe or caught consumption, and no reliever was warming up because he was busy gambling and drinking." - JD
I still think I'm going to wake up and say "I shouldn't listen to the podcast before bed, I dreamed the Sox signed a guy from Curaçao named Charlie Zink." - KOC

The future will look weird with players promoted from Greenville to Greenville.
Greenville's team doesn't look all that impressive.
Proud survivor of a hole in the ozone layer, an ice age, a complete polar cap meltdown, a worldwide millennium computer shutdown, and multiple; solar storms, Mayan calendar dates, Nostradamus quatrains and Apocalypses.

Not having a Monday thread is going to be really weird.

It's an interesting situation because with his defense, speed and contact skills he would already be a situational weapon. But it's way more important to see if he can develop into a power threat.
So that's what plus plus speed looks like.... that is something to look forward to seeing in Boston. A 5 tool player in CF that started out as a 10,000 dollar IFA signing is the kind of lottery ticket win the Sox farm system could use. I know he has work to do but that package of athleticism, work ethic and skill is exciting to think about.
