I’ll be at the Sea Dogs tonight so it would be really considerate for Casas to run last night back

Meises has 5 hrs and is an outfielder...is he just fodder?...Lots of power from prior seasons.

Meises has 5 hrs and is an outfielder...is he just fodder?...Lots of power from prior seasons. In 250 career AA games he has a .195/.273/.387/.661 slash line with a 32% K rate. Seems like the hit tool just hasn’t been there in the past. Maybe he’s made an adjustment but I’m going to err on the side of caution until we get out of a small sample size . On the positive side, he did end 2019 with a really strong showing in AAA, so maybe he did actually figure something out and turn a corner. Who knows.

He also got to Double-A at just 21 and was totally overmatched, so I think the idea he made an adjustment isn't crazy.

He's also 25 now though (a month younger than Dalbec, 2 months younger than Arroyo, older than Chavis, Devers, Darwinzon, Verdugo, Houck). I'd need to see it in AAA before it really would register.

In his first AB Duran hit a grounder to the right of the SS and beat out the throw to first. The first baseman didn’t field the throw cleanly but he still beat it to the bag. One out later he stole second pretty easily. You can’t teach speed.

BB, BB, HR for Gonsalves in the 2nd. Ugh! Hate those BB's.
EDIT: Meant to add - after he K'd the first 2 batters of the inning. Even more frustrating.

He would work out very well with the parent team who excel in giving up a couple of walks followed by a dinger. He is learning well.

Casas pounded one into the ground to the pull side and it found its way through. Rosario punched one too

Casas has a really breezy approach. My girlfriend said “it looks like he doesn’t care” lol. Once pitchers really start to fear him, I feel like he’ll draw a ton of walks.
His load happens quick (even though he was a bit early on this cut), and with that crouch he looks like a coiled spring by the time he goes to swing. Weird combo of physical intimidation and a crouched stance.

Cannon goes way back 27 ab, 3 2b, 2 hr, 3 bb, 5 k Hes been a bit of an after thought for me. Wouldn't that be something if cannon had a nice little breakout year and opened some eyes.

Salem with a 6 spot in the 1st inning. Might be able to end Lynchburg's season long winning streak if Blalock and the bullpen can hold on.

Lugo hit one off the top of the wall for a double, that's a brutal park to hit

He would be a nice trade chip for the off-season. A potential low ceiling 2B/LF is the last profile type they'd need going forward imo.

For a HS kid so advanced he played on the taxi squad spring camp, Yorke sure is having a hard time adjusting to low A ball. Not just .159 BA, but lots of Ks. I had a expected him to jump right into that level.

Maybe he ticks up a bit and becomes a guy who could help the sox major league team down the road or maybe he's a trade chip. Worth keeping an eye on anyway.
