Senyshyn and Wolf are the only RFAs that recieved QOs. Kase and Ritchie (and Lantosi) become UFA.

They’ve certainly got some plans
Pagnotta and another dude have them talking to Getzlaf as soon as free agency opens. I don’t mind it for the 4th line

Not sure why though. With Lazar at C on the 4th line, don't we have other needs to worry about (2 LHDs, at least 1 G, Krejci or another #2 C).
What concerns me is that they might be thinking Krejci is retiring and they're gonna move Coyle up to #2 and Getzlaf up to #3. Don't love that at all.

HMMM... Did Sweeney burn Haggerty? He reported this was from Sweeney, wow. I guess we were all right in not liking these moves.

Could also have thrown in out there to try and generate some trade interest (especially on Ritchie). If so, the league called their bluff.

Pretty sure he said it during a media availability session. Fluto wrote on it as well. This wasn't just Haggs reporting it.

Seems unlikely that that could be the plan. He had some vague "upper body injury" that seemed like it only put him out of commission because the season was almost over and he didn't have time to get up to speed. I don't think you could be planning on that injury putting him on the IR for most of the season. There was also talk that the QO means a two-way deal which would pay him a lower salary when he's in the minors. But I don't see signing a guy like that to play in Providence, either. The Occam's razor explanation is that Sweeney dealt for him and doesn't want to give up on him before Kase proves him right for doing so. This is a terrible take!! To think that Sweeney is that bad at his job when he has done nothing to deserve that kind of criticism. Sorry but you are wrong. Sweeney has done a good job and doesn't deserve that kind of hyperbole. The team just believes that his upside is worth the cost of keeping him. So, the concept of GMs holding on to talent they acquired for too long is hardly unique to Sweeney. It's a trait shared by most, if not all, GMs to some extent. It's why you always hear about (generally in the NFL or NBA) teams holding onto washout 1st round picks too long. It's common thing. Maybe I didn't explain my meaning properly, but I don't want to type half a page to clarify every small point. In any event, acting like this is some slanderous attack on Don Sweeney is kind of comical. He's been an okay GM, and I don't criticize him much. But he's not great, he's made some terrible moves with some good ones and few that can be called great (drafting McAvoy, I guess?). He certainly hasn't earned the right to be above criticism when he makes head-scratching moves. Tendering Kase would have been a move that deserves a lot of criticism. You can peruse the net for writers talking about how there was no way any team would consider paying him 2.6 mil before the rumor that Sweeney was about to, and you can read their confusion when he sounded like he was going to. It wouldn't have made any sense on any level, and there's no reason everyone has to pretend Don Sweeney is so infallible that such a move was above comment. A move he didn't make, as it turns out Which is great. I'm hopeful for what Sweeney and the B's will do this offseason, but I don't check my logic circuits at the door so I can pretend bad moves must have some invisible brilliance behind them.

Everyone says they need a goalie. I disagree. Vlader is out of options and I doubt he clears waivers. I’d roll with the 2 kids with Tuuka as a backup plan.

I'm not at all sure Vladar would be claimed. There was a rumor a bit ago that the Bruins planned to go with Vladar and a vet, and send Swayman down, because Vladar has "seniority" which was how they were among that call. I would certainly hope that isn't true, as it's a silly way to determine who plays at the NHL level.

Jimmy Murphy saying Bs and Kraken engaged in talks regarding D. Not sure who. Can't help but think Dunn. I wouldn't think you go after a 37 year old Giordano, a number of guys have salaries you wouldn't think we'd be interested in, a lot of guys are depth Left Shots, which isn't where our needs are. Unless we are trying to get Lauzon back, Dunn makes the most sense. But what do I know? (please don't answer that)

Or Carson Soucy? Not sure he's good enough to be a top 4 guy, but he seems better than Zboril and Vaak.

The only other thing that it could be is Lauzon.
Pre-expansion the talk was that the price on deals to not pick certain players was exorbitant. Mayne it comes back to Earth now?
Least likely of the scenarios but . . .

Schmidt-McAvoy Forbort-Carlo Gryz-Hakanpaa Clifton/Zboril As Liz Lemon would say: No thank you, please. Martinez re-upping in Vegas, Suter getting 4 years somewhere else. Options are getting limited They’ve got money though so maybe they get nuts and do something like offersheet Pelech

Why is it so hard to find right shot forwards and left shot defensemen?

Unless we are trying to get Lauzon back, Dunn makes the most sense. But what do I know? (please don't answer that) First, I think Mark Giordano is staying in Seattle for a leadership presence. Second, he only has one year left on his deal and Seattle could retain salary for the Bruins if they traded him here. Seattle has plenty of money to play with and my guess is their plan is to try and build a solid structure this season then dip into next years super talented free agent pool. They avoided long term bigger contracts and in the process have very little with regards to top 6 talent. So in summary, while I think they keep him, if they don’t, he doesn’t need to be traded as his cap number.

Braden Holtby getting bought out today. For those that do want a vet G added to the mix, add his name to the list of available tenders.
EDIT - Martin Jones as well.

Elliot Friedman thinks Boston might be in on Blake Coleman and that might be why they changed tune on the QOs I hope so. He was one guy I thought would be perfect. Not a cheap pickup but not super expensive, versatile, really adds the amount of punch we need to our lines.
