Here we go with giving away outs and runs. Focus, please.

And now we get to see why our second half record is what it is. Dalbec, Raffi and CVaz are really letting the team down on D. Add out of position players and it is a disaster.

What the ****, Dalbec? That wasn't that hard of a catch.
Last two games are a reflection of how important defense is. That's why teams like the Rays, Royals, etc. can be sneaky good.

Fortunately, the Rangers are even worse nincompoops than the Red Sox.

Schwarber with the PO - who says he can't play infield!

Dave O'B - "they don't look at all like a playoff team right now" (meaning the Red Sox). Thankfully, Texas remembered that they suck and let us off the hook.

Seriously, beside Kiké, can anybody play defense on this team?

So...this Schwarber dude was supposed to be good at hitting bombs, right?
EDIT: that didn't age very well...

I was hoping Schwarber would set the example for more quality Red Sox hitters' at bats. There was also the other option - that he would catch the "swing at the balls, take the strikes" disease that has seemed to infect so many of our hitters in the second half.

So...this Schwarber dude was supposed to be good at hitting bombs, right? EDIT: that didn't age very well... He's still hitting .375/.545/.563/1.108 before today, but interesting fact, he doesn't have an RBI for the team yet. Not that's the end all, be all stat. I just find it fascinating that the guy with 25 home runs despite missing a month and is hitting very well doesn't have a single run batted in. He does have 3 runs scored. Again, archaic stats. He's doing fine, but his impact hasn't really been felt yet. Still hate him not playing 1B yet, but when they got him I was hoping he was going to be our every day LFer and they'd get another 1B, or have him at 1B, Kiké in CF and finding a regular 2B.

Pretty sure he still has more walks than K’s since getting here

Random observation - the need for a closer (meaning Barnes) has been pretty well neutralized by the weird all or nothing record of the team since late July.
Today will change that if this score holds

This Rangers team is not exactly the ‘31 Yankees, but still a nice start from Eovaldi so far. Need to get him a few more runs.
