With the understanding that we're a month and a half out from the draft and it's still largely speculation and guesswork at this point, college hitter (and college OFer most often) does seem to be the go-to for the Sox in these drafts. Have to wonder if there's just a bit of smoke.

Have to wonder if there's just a bit of smoke. I think the comment in the BA mock is more likely the real reason for this. I doubt there is any more to it than that. Back in the day, you'd get the "smoke" when Theo would go scout a guy in person. These days, it would probably be counter-productive for a GM (etc.) to show up in person given the prevalence of video.

I think I’d prefer Beavers or Brock Jones to Beck, but like the idea of going college hitter.

Watching video suggests he's more of a 3b. One story online suggests he could be a good switch-hitting catcher.

I like this kid from UConn Reggie Crawford, Lefty and his ranked around 78 and our pick is right about there also.
I think MILB pipeline has him ranked there.

Ooooo I like that kid. That’s a pretty BP Wow he sure looks like a talent. Swing has a great path and sure is pretty. I know it pushes "the BP Rat/ make-up buttons" but it is kind of cool that he's doing a solo, night time BP. Of course $$$ and a solid future are absolutely worth going the extra mile for.

This is my prediction for the SOX for the 1st 3 RDS. At 24 Conner Prielipp, at 41 Kumar Rocker, at 79 Reggie Crawford.
Kumar scares lots of teams and falls too good to pass up. The SOX are set for the next 25 years.

Blade Tidwell with his longest outing of the season going 7.2, 3H, 0BB 7SO threw 93 pitches. They’ve handled him as well as anybody could’ve hoped for coming back from his injury and he is rounding into form right on time, maybe back to being the first College pitcher off the board? We’ll see.

Geoff Pontes on Twitter had great coverage of Kumar Rocker's much anticipated return to the mound today

Tuning in to first college game of year, but Payton Graham looks like a player. Apparently only a second round pick per MLB.com, but his bat looks much quicker than Fabian.

No interest in Beck if this is his attitude. I don’t care how good your team is. Respect your opponents and the game itself. Society is in serious trouble. Vitelli is doing a great job @ Tennessee but I can’t root for them with all of their antics.

Counterpoint - nah, this is hilarious (and way more towards mild-mannered on the things athletes say and do during games, you typically just don't see it) and I'd take a dude with fire like this on my team 10 times out of 10.
