Well, time to get into draft watching. Kyle Hamilton, anyone?? QB class was better last year, so feeling pretty decent about picking Mac this year (and NOT sacrificing a 1st to move up!) even if we do end up at the top of 2022 draft. Matt Corral and Kenny Pickett are looking better than the pre-season top set of Rattler and Howell, and I think Mac compares well to both. Malik Willis is a little too improvisational for Bill. So, Mac Attack it is. There might be a decent WR available at the top of the 2nd round too if/when we go defense first. Bill looks smart: Mac Jones, Matt Judon. (ADD: BAREMORE) Bill looks dumb: everything else? Kyle Hamilton is a beast! Sign me up. We are really seeing how good Mills has been, his replacements have been horrible.

The OL seems fine. I'm rather surprised they went with Cajuste over Durant though. Herron is way better at left tackle than right tackle. Since Wynn hasn’t been playing well at all I wonder if maybe they would be better off kicking him inside and moving Onwenu back to RT.

Kyle Hamilton watch put on pause. When does Steve Belichick end up on the hot seat? Will BB fire his own son like Doc Rivers did?

It wasn’t pretty, but eked out a win. Almost as concerning as the issues in the secondary were about the half-dozen or so throws that Mac could have been picked on.

Backup O-line >>> Starting O-line
Cajuste looked pretty good
Ugly win. Still a win. Get one next week and they’ll be where I expected them to be after 6
McCourty was awful.
Mac made some good throws and some bad throws. Very much like a rookie 1st round pick QB in the first half of his first season. Numbers look way better if Meyers catches a cookie and possibly takes it to the house
Hunter Henry was great

Time to demote Steve Belichick. The kid may have the genes but he is not Bill. Right now we are looking at another losing season the way this team is playing. They seem to be unprepared with the exception of the Bucs game.

The OL seems fine. I'm rather surprised they went with Cajuste over Durant though. Herron is way better at left tackle than right tackle. Since Wynn hasn’t been playing well at all I wonder if maybe they would be better off kicking him inside and moving Onwenu back to RT. I don't know, I'm so confused, before this game the whole OL was under achieving by a huge margin. First off that's not a good DL, unlike former Texan teams that were crazy good for years. Yet you can't also overlook how they just didn't make mistakes. I mean Trent Brown being injured isn't a surprise, him not staying healthy is why he was traded. The offense is different, yet something is wrong. Wynn has been a good to better LT when healthy. I'm not surprised Herron played better at LT, they went out of there way to play him there last year. They started Wynn at guard one game and it wasn't good. They had to switch things up rather quickly. I don't know if this is coaching, the pairings or just lack of experience playing together. I was rather surprised they traded for Durant and played him right away. Then they started Cajuste at RT and not Durant. He wasn't perfect, yet it was rather impressive for his first action in his career. Which isn't that surprising given the camp reports, yet why was Durant playing? A guy that didn't have camp and preseason with us. Sorry for the rant, yet the OL play has been crazy. Yeah I would move Onwenu to RT. He looked great there last year and he has experience playing next to Mason. Yet I'd leave Wynn at LT and just replace the guard with Karras. At that point you'd at minimum be able to tell if it's the pairings. Then go from there. That's the most experienced OL combo you can put on the field. It's starting to look like moving Onwenu to OG because of Brown was a mistake. The guy was a beast at RT last year, it's why we all were taking OG in our mocks. Stop worrying about Brown and just put guys in there best positions. Then deal with the Brown issue if he gets healthy. The crap they've been doing hasn't worked. The pass protection was bad, the run blocking was bad, so many penalties and mistakes.

As far as Bills son, I have questions. Like why Williams was getting lined up with there best deep threats. That's the last thing he should be doing. Yet that's more Bill and his roster building. Mills was out and man was that a huge hole. Wade was injured, so we get Bryant. Yet Bryant is a slow slot guy. You have a major CB issue on the outside if you don't have Mills or Jackson, while facing multiple speed guys. Maybe Wade can step up and provide the depth needed, yet his best play has come inside at the Slot position.
Just night and day the last two games. Go look at what Brady did to the Dolphins. Evans and Brown had almost 250 yards and 4 TDs. Yet a rookie QB lit us worst than Brady did. They have to find depth at outside CB and frankly dress an extra CB, so Bethel isn't next man up.
I do have to say Phillips really impressed me last game along with Duggar and oh course Judon. Yet you also noticed just how good Mills is.

Phillips has been a surprisingly good patriot overall, this year he’s flashing more than last year too That drop off from Mills to Williams/Bryant is MAJOR is what we learned on Sunday. Williams in particular is VERY bad. Can’t overcome that against a good team, they need to either pick up a corner from somewhere or sacrifice a small animal to the injury gods Also didn’t help that McCourty couldn’t have been worse. I don’t expect that to be the norm- it wasn’t a lack of athleticism that comes with age that killed him, it was his overaggressive mentality. Very uncharacteristic of him.

I kind of wish that Belichick would relieve himself of GM duties, but that ship has probably sailed.

I kind of wish that Belichick would relieve himself of GM duties, but that ship has probably sailed. Hasn't he had that control since day one? I love the guy but he has certainly made some bad choices thru the years. Many good ones also but some real reaches in the draft.

Huge game today, a win and you're 3-3 and looking good.

Huge game today, a win and you're 3-3 and looking good. I would say they need it. Is today the day they will actually start running the ball? Offensive line is still the key for this team. Mac can't keep running for his life half the game and he needs the running game to take some pressure off. I'm going to go out on a limb and predict BB gives Stevenson a chance to redeem himself and he is a big factor in the game.

Remember when I said that Miami loss was going to haunt us? That is a team that should now be 0-6. Terrible terrible loss.

I'm looking more at the D, if you can't slow down that offense you won't be able to run if you get behind. They are on fire running and passing. It's a big time test for how good our D actually is. I'd actually come out spread offense with the hurry up to start the game. Every team is going to try to stop the run and blitz Mac Jones like crazy until he proves that doesn't work. So I'd use the pass to set up the running game. I don't know if it's because teams were behind, yet the Cowboys rank very high in yards per game rushing and low in passing. Yet they are allowing 4.2 yards a rush. It's just been crazy lately with teams blitzing like crazy, the RBs have no chance half the time. I want to see Steveson more involved in the passing game, setting him up to run out of the spread offense. If he can't do that, given Taylor is likely in the dog house, we need another RB.

The D looked bad last week but their were some funky long plays that killed them. They looked really good against Brady and are ranked #5 right, so I think the D will slow the Boys down. I like both Taylor and Stevenson but man the opponents D seems like they have been running downhill against the Pats all season. They need to scare someone deep also.

What is dumber? The Cowboys going for it on their own 34 on the first possession of the game or challenging it?
