So you prefer a two faced liar that caused so many issues they just released him and no team would trade for him. That's your choice, I certainly don't understand it though. Go read up, article after article. You can make the choice to not read up, it doesn't just make that crap disappear. Simmons is staying away after his coach and teammates threw him under the bus. OBJ showed up, killed chemistry, had a bad attitude and didn't do what the coaches wanted. I'd call out Simmons in two seconds if he just showed up and tried to destroy the team. That was the smart play money wise. It's what James Harden did and it got him traded rather fast. Only thing I fault the Browns for was not trading OBJ in the offseason. The writing was on the wall last year, 3-3 with him and 9-3 without him. Mayfield had the best stretch of his career after OBJ went down. Think about that, one of the most naturally gifted receivers I've ever seen, yet he's such a headcase that his team is better without him. I was just looking for info man, chill chill. Also, Simmons did show up and work to hurt the team but doing nothing. When I made my comments about wanting OBJ it was strictly football field related. Not claiming to know everything about his off field stuff, hence the questions. Also, in football it’s easier to move on from guys, especially one with no guarantees so it’s apples to oranges. The apples to oranges part is many teams are willing to trade a ton to get Simmons. The debate is on if any team even claims OBJ.

I have read that OBJ is very well liked in the locker room and has had a good relationship with Baker and all the guys. They actually do get together off the field. OBJ is known for getting to know all the players and at times buying the whole team special sneakers. He was at Mayfields wedding and I guess they play computer games against each other. It went on to say and point out how they never clicked on the field and OBJ would not always run the route Baker thought he would run so it made for indecision on timing throws.
This is just an on the field problem really and yes I know OBJ has had a checkered past. But if he doesn't run the right routes there in Cleveland I don't think he would be a great fit in NE with a more difficult offense. It would be nice for Mac to have a true stud WR that could help him make big plays`though. Imagine if Brady had Moss for 8 years or so the numbers they would have put up. Moss would have more TD receptions than Jerry Rice and Brady's numbers would balloon by 10%.

Back to the Pats…. Darnold is starting and CMC is playing. What a dumb idea to think they could fix Darnold, with two better QBs just sitting there at #8. Offensive Geniuses consistenly think too highly of themselves. I think Tannehill is the only one it actually worked for.

I don’t know, Darnold was the talk of the league for the first 4 weeks - 3 of which CMC played so I wouldn’t write him off just yet.

Who offered them 4 first round picks? Brogdon and a first around 20ish isn’t a huge offer. There’s a major difference in the situation prior to the draft (when Philly asked GS for the moon) and now. Let’s stop comparing basketball trades to football trades, it makes us all dumber and it’s disingenuous. There’s 0 comparison to the 2 especially in season. Edit: I copy and pasted this into the Cs thread as it’s evolved more to Simmons trade value so if you want to respond - do that one

Harry will be inactive today so my idea of him getting more snaps after the Bourne benching in the 2nd part of last week was . . . Less than spot on.

Wynn with a major penalty, followed by Karras with a hold, followed by Jakobi with a bobble. All on the first drive :-)

I just don’t understand Isaiah Wynn. Joao Shmoao from New Bedford knows that these edge rushers are all speed off the edge.

Barmore has been an animal this game.

This is the day when the known world agreed that Sam Darnold is not a starting quarterback.

Beating on Sam Darnold is so nostalgia-inducing.

Everything about this game was awful. The penalties. The passing games. Sam Darnold. The injuries. Everything but the final score.

Jags knock off the Bills, complete shocker. Now just a half game back of the Bills, I ban referencing the Miami game for the next week.

Quite amazing how broken Darnold is
Defense looked good. Nice that JC had 2 picks. Love seeing a long INT return
Really, thoroughly impressed with the tackling ability of Myles Bryant. People will talk about the boom stick he put on Moore but it was the open field tackle on Ian Thomas that got me to pop. Tiny guy bringing a TE down in space by himself with zero problems. That low center of gravity helps!
Isaiah Wynn was miserable in the first half
Kinda hilarious that not only the division but the conference is kinda up for grabs

Rookie review:
So far this draft class is looking big time with your QB of the future, a starting game disruptor at DT and a starting caliber 3 down running back all in tow. Obviously the QB is so important it elevates the rest of the class.
Mac Jones had his second subpar game in a row, but was also under a lot of pressure and then the focus changed to the run game.
Barmore has been getting better and better and probably had his best game this week. He’s a disruptive force in the middle (rookie scale grading) and that’s something they haven’t had since Vince was here… although different from how Vince was, obviously. All kidding aside on the “value” play of the trade…. I do respect the value of the picks you give up vs the ones you get back in most cases, but when making those deals you also need to focus on what you think the value of the player you are getting back is so if the Patriots had a first grade value on the player then the trade is focused as much on that as it is on the draft chart which allows them to pay a small premium comfortably.
Stephenson, had a breakout game then got hurt, i don’t know why they went back to Harris at that point, who also got hurt. Hopefully, they aren’t really concussed and will be back this week.
Perkins, it’s disappointing he’s been inactive every week, but really where would he play? So I’m not going to judge this yet.
There are 2 IR prospects in McGrone and Bledsoe that have upside. McGrone especially could be the solution they need for speed at inside linebacker.
Nice looking class so far.
