You play as you practice, if a coach allows that crap in practice it just becomes 2nd nature. It's why certain players complain being a Patriot isn't fun. Yet that's why they are the Patriots. It's Randy Moss getting in trouble showing up late because of a big snow storm. Bill wants you there learning to play during that weather, the results are the Bills game. There's no home field advantage because of crappy weather, Patriots have been practicing in crappy weather daily. I wouldn't be surprised if Bill has them instal wind machines and snow machines when they redo the stadium.

The only thing that makes me feel better about replacing Bill some say is Kraft has hired 3 coaches and they are all HOFers. That being said Robert is an old man now and just going to be older by then and it will be around to 25 years since he had to hire one. All that as a lead in to this. “During a staff meeting, Meyer delivered a biting message that he's a winner and his assistant coaches are losers, according to several people informed of the contents of the meeting, challenging each coach individually to explain when they've ever won and forcing them to defend their résumés.” www.nfl.com/news/tension-boiling-over-between-coach-urban-meyer-jaguars-players-staff The stress of knowing he will be fired once the season is over is getting to him. They probably should have just fired him when the video of him in the bar came out. After reading that I don't know how he lasts much longer. I love it when dickheads get their comeuppance.

You are absolutely right about "you play as you practice" and all of that is just one more reason why BB is the goat!!! What Kingsbury said this past week was just gold IMO. BB coaches every position, every move on the field and every asst coach to do everything a certain way and no one will ever do it better. Wasn't it Adalius Thomas that was late due to the snow storm? I don't remember Moss doing it but I am old and forgetful.

And Jonas Gray that I believe had his phone die overnight which prevented his alarm from going off the week after he had 201 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns and then was pretty much never heard from again.

If he’s fired, look at Josh McDaniels to be a hot name there. After the year he’s had with Mac, Kahn and Josh would probably love for him to work with Lawrence.

I’ve been meaning to bring this up since I saw it a week or two ago (time blends together for me), but one of his teammates said he wouldn’t be surprised if Nelson Agholor was a coach after he stopped playing. Said he was obsessed with learning the entire playbook and every players responsibility and why for every play. Was reading Bedards article from a couple days ago today which trigger this memory. In that, he said the Patriots we heavily focused on adding free agents who were great teammates and hard workers, passing on more talented options. I’m holding our hope that there’s still a lot of room for this passing game to grow. Macs reps with the first team were limited because of Cam. Also, you have a new QB and all new skill position guys, that’s going to take a lot of time to grow, especially without camp.
My 3 biggest concerns the rest of the way are:
1. Health 2. Passing offense 3. Reduced ability to play man to man on D

More Urban Meyer fun!
Jaguars coach Urban Meyer on fixing what's wrong: "What's the answer? Starting leaking some information or nonsense? That's garbage. ... If there is a source, then that source is unemployed. I mean, within seconds."
Can't get enough! More! MORE!

I thought Buffalo had a few bad calls not go their way late. They were driving in regulation and could have pulled this one out. But they also had a bad OT so they can't complain (much).

Passing offense 3. Reduced ability to play man to man on D I honestly see a team that is capable of winning it all. That might be a little bit over confident but if they do what BB coached teams normally do which is to continue to get better each week then who knows. The thing for me is that with all the new faces it is a roster that has that much more room to grow as they learn from Bill and what is expected. Also they are a group that is getting along really well and they have bought into the Patriot way, which is to just selflessly do your job. Maybe this isn't the yr for that yet but why not shock the world. What can I say I am a unapologetic Patriot homer. But I do know football and this has turned into a very good team. I mean really they just beat a team that was supposed to be very good in their house throwing the ball 3 times. That is more unfathonable than to think they could win it all. If they make it to the AFC Championship game BB should win Coach and Executive of the yr.

If the Patriots don't win the Superbowl this year, it'll induce the longest Boston championship drought of the 21st century! 3 years may not seem like a lot, but the only time we went that long is Celtics '08 to Bruins '11. A lot riding on Mac and Crew... How could we dare call ourselves Titletown anymore??

Bucks announce Giannis in Covid Protocol so we should hear about a Celtic any minute now. I think you misfired - this is the Pats thread, not Celts!

Because they last played on Monday night and now have to play on Saturday, they lost 2 days of rest on a normal bye week and Bill lost 2 days of preparing for the Colts. Somehow, doesn't see fair.

Yeah, but they got two extra days to prepare for the Bills (one for the first game and one for the second game). It all works out in the end.

Compared to Thursday night games that come with only 3 days off I can't see this as being a concern. Sure it cuts into players time off a little bit but beyond that it isn't an issue really. And given the timing for the Pats, 7 game winning streak and a late bye, it is more of a positive than a negative. Winning in the NFL has a lot to do with attrition and the Pats are in pretty good shape as far as that goes and this will only help.

It almost never works out when you hire a college coach like Meyers. Just way too long in the college they don't understand the difference between coaching young men and adults.

I've always hated Urban Meyers and I have loved watching this entire train wreck. No one can tell me he wasn't cheating his ass off at Florida and Ohio State.

Should be an interesting matchup tonight. I expect a lot of 4-3 base with Dugger coming down into the box. I think Bill’s going to make Wentz beat ‘em between the hashes.
It will be the same on the other side of the ball. Expect the Colts to make Mac beat them. This is a very well coached Colts team who don’t typically lose games they should be winning. So this could be a statement game for Mac if he executes prior to the snap and doesn’t poop the bed on blitzes.

When you say 4-3 base do you mean they will have Duggar as one of the linebackers with Phillips and McCourty also on the field? If so, I’d argue that’s not really a base 4-3. I expect them to go bigger on the line but stick lighter in the second and third level - at least that’s what i think they’d like to do .

Wynn has been trash in the first quarter. And my god Myers, catch that deep ball. Couldn't have been a better throw.
And ugggggh
Someday, the Patriots will have someone who is half as good as Randy Moss on the outside.
