The Cora Curse strikes again. It happens whenever the Sox are leading after five and the starter has thrown 80 pitches.

Chris has had trouble putting anyone away when up 2 strikes tonight. Wondering if he is at full strength. definitely not normal to see him with just 1K. Hard to say....still pitched well.

If this game is Robles proof might as well not use Whitlock another inning in case one of the other games is close.

Our defense has really started to look better from the outfield to Dalbec and Xander. Devers and Vazquez can be a bit frustrating, but they’ve been solid overall. The defense is going to be key if we’re going to make it

Here I am on a friday night watching a guy called SPENSER escape a 2 RISP with no outs situation. 2021 Red Sox is a love and hate affair.

Ugggh Detroit choked against Tampa. Does that actually matter? It's not like any of Toronto, Boston, or NY are catching the Rays. For that matter, neither are the Astros or White Sox. The Rays will have the league's best record and home field advantage throughout the AL playoffs. Other than when they play Toronto or NY I don't care what they do and if they play the Jays and Yankees, go Rays.

Nice to see the Sox offense peck away at the Orioles pitching staff. It wasn't even a barrage. At some point this series there will be a barrage.
Also good to see Sale pitch well. Glad Whitlock was only needed for one quick inning. Maybe Renfroe will find his way to 30 HRs and 100 RBIs.
I also knew Dalbec was going deep tonight (no, really).

But you wouldn't mind the Astros creeping closer - they host the Rays for 3 in the next to last series of the regular season. Anything so that the Rays have to play hard down to the wire and have something to play for when they face the MFYs in the season finale 3-game series in NY.

I figure the Rays will be about 5 games ahead of Houston by time the Yankees play the Rays but you're right, if Houston can hang close they could put some pressure on the Rays to treat some games in that series like a must win.
