Great season no matter what Boston’s media will try to say in the coming days.

Horrible bullpen management by Cora in this series. Lost game 1 because he used Sawamura and Perez instead of Whitlock in the 9th when losing by a run. Now with 2 Men on base in the last inning of a do or die game, he brings in Ottavino instead of Whitlock. Whitlock should be good for three innings in game 7. Oh wait No. Nope. This is on the offense 98% View: When your entire lineup is batting under .120 not much Cora can do. We could have had prime Pedro on the Mound one of the last three games and still have lost.

Oh well it was a great season. We went a lot further than most everyone anticipated, had some young pitchers step up and look to have bright futures and the farm looks to be back toward the top 1/3.

On the one hand I want to see our 2-3-4 put up a good last stand, but I'm not sure I can withstand a third "if only they got out of the 8th" game. The 8th inning has been our Achilles heel all season

We should honestly feel great about our rotation and lineup going forward, but damn our bullpen needs to be built almost from scratch. I feel like the 2013 Tigers must have felt

Who called the Kiké pop up for the first out?

I really enjoy Cora as the manager but to be fair dusty ran circles around him these last 3 games Tough task when your offense collaspes and you have no clue who to trust in the bullpen, especially when Whitlock and Houck started to show some signs of struggling. I've been hard on Cora's bullpen management this series, but I have full confidence in his ability to lead this team to success. Now let's build out our depth so we don't have Santana first in off the bench and a bullpen that is essentially like throwing spaghetti against the wall.

Both things are true. The offense being horrendous has been said enough, Cora's bad management in this series hasn't

Who called the Kiké pop up for the first out? I did! Kiké fly out, Devers pop out, Xander K on a breaking ball away

Maybe I am stuck in the moment. But for a team that made the ALCS and has certainly exceeded reasonable expectations, this one has been mostly excruciating to watch. Not sure if it is their style of play or the volatility of their performance or what, but I’ve actually enjoyed this season less than any in recent memory despite the team’s success. That's a reasonable take. Still, they had a fun first 3 months, and an exciting final 3 games against Washington and a glorious stretch where they eliminated NYY, TB, and then had Houston on the ropes. That is something to be proud of. Eliminating the Yankees is always something to be proud of. So I will think of the 2021 Red Sox in a positive light, an exciting and aggravating team that did much better than expected. But there will be some regret that the Sox really, if they played better when it mattered in Game 1 and 4 could have swept the Astros. And I really think the Sox could have beaten the Braves if it was a Sox/Braves series. Doesn't matter now though

Real proud of where they got. Losing to a better team isn't a cause for shame, but for introspection. Where can we improve? Keep at it baby!

Devers K - pretty predictable. Xander - fly ball - good contact but...
Goodnight, all. Articles today on the website all around Cora saying they were packing for a long road trip.
I want to hear his postgame on the disappearance of the offense.

Predicting bullpen performance at this point seems a folly Eh I disagree, gave up 4 runs in Game 1 which we lost by one, then blew the lead in Game 4. We win Game 1 and it’s a different series altogether, it’s just that our bullpen was useless. Nevermind the Rays series where we blew the 5-0 lead predictably

I still can’t remember such a streaky offense, it’s pretty crazy. We would have won the World Series if we won this series too, but oh well, we’re well set up so it’s good that our team got some postseason experience

Nevermind the Rays series where we blew the 5-0 lead predictably can't win when the team hits .110 and 0 for infinity with RISP no matter what the pitching. Poor hitting puts enormous pressure on the pitchers. For me, the offense needs to be fixed - particularly situational hitting, scoring without hitting home runs.

Playoffs sort of represented the season in a way. We did better than anybody predicted, but the lows were so miserable that it was often hard to look on the bright side. It felt like the Red Sea was parting for us to win a championship for a minute there, so it's disappointing to crash back to reality. But I think we all know that we would have been getting away with one had the Sox actually pulled it off.
