Personally don't like this trade Our center rotation becomes insanely thin especially if Timelord goes down, Dragic is cooked, and your defense regresses significantly without Smart and Horford. Just don't see it. And Siakam doesn't shoot particularly well. I can see why it's attractive, I think I'm just lower on Siakam than most. I would not consider him a third star personally.

For me it's about being able to play both ways and Dragic has really nothing to do with it. Siakam isn't a bad defender and he's a scorer, who can create and pass, while getting to the FT line. I certainly don't think Williams, Siakam, Tatum, Brown and Schroder would be a bad defense lineup. Then make Pritchard your backup PG and you can play a bunch of small ball with Siakam at center and Tatum at PF. Worst case you have a better trading piece next offseason if it doesn't work.

Holy shit - Tatum 14, LA 8. Can he possibly stay this hot??? (probably not, but could be a huge game shaping up)

Now Tatum is forcing things and has become a turnover machine.

First half - Tatum with 21, but also 3 turnovers. Williams had a great first half. Smart, Shroeder and Horford non-factors, and Grant Williams some really poor minutes.
Giving up 56% shooting is why they are behind, though.

It is all falling apart in the third - sloppy, sloppy, sloppy - and crappy shooting.

This team desperately needs a real point guard. Marcus is a solid playmaker but he shouldn’t be your primary point guard on a regular basis.

I don't think a healthy Jaylen would make much of a difference.

Deep into the 3rd, awful combination of porous defense and poor shooting.
this is really sad. I got sling so I could start to watch a few games. This one is not fun at all.

No other comments on last night's game. We are deep into .500 Celtics apathy, it seems.

I just don't understand what goes on in Imes head. He uses Nesmith and Pritchard early last game and you add the mix you need in today's NBA. Next game he goes right back to his normal crap and doesn't play them till its basically a blowout late third, early 4th.
It's not even surprising anymore when he starts Robert Williams, Horford, Tatum, Smart and Schröder, then uses Langford and Grant Williams as the first two off the bench. Some one has to explain to me his plan for the offense. You play that lineup and you're going to just keep having good and bad games because that's not a good shooting lineup. No team can play great D for 82 games, it's impossible.
If you want to be a defensive team that plays a ton of so so shooters, at minimum you shouldn't be a slow paced team. Use your D to create turnovers and get easy transition baskets. This is just painful to watch. I was so excited for this season and it's painful to watch right now.

not watching - just the box score/Gamecast. Wow - Tatum 1-5 with 3 turnovers, -12 with 3 min to go in first half. .500 here we come again. Wow.
Giving up 54% shooting - nearly 56% by half time.
Outscored 39-23 in the second quarter. Sheesh.

Brandon Boston, coming in averaging 4.5 pts per game, already with 21 on 8-9 shooting. Anyone playing defense on him?
14 turnovers vs 7 for the Clippers. Shit hitting fan, it seems.

Welp, team continues to disappoint me and a very real chance we are just a .500 team as many have been saying. Particularly without Jaylen. Sad.

Honestly the more we play the more I feel like if we're going to be a .500 team we should at least be playing Pritchard and Nesmith more. No sense playing guys like Richardson just to lose games.

Reading Tatum's excuses in the post game NESN article, this seems a team great with excuses, but not effort or execution. Pretty ho hum season so far.

Yet it's not the cast around them, it's how Ime plays them.

Disagree with the two takes above. Everyone has to buy in, including Tatum and Smart - and we don't know how much of this is on Ime, really. Playing iso ball, filling up the stat sheet with turnovers - I am not willing to let Tatum off the hook for the results they are getting. I see it as a team effort of underwhelm. Overall, there is a root cause or two leading to this - either the wrong mix of players, or the wrong system for the players, or just occasional indifference by the players. Thank goodness for the Pats, because the Celts and Bruins are providing seasons of mediocrity.

Thank goodness for the Pats, because the Celts and Bruins are providing seasons of mediocrity. How do you think I feel as a long suffering N.Y Giants fan!?😄😵.(It was the only NFL football team broadcast into N.E. when I was growing up. Pats second choice). Cs brought in new players, got a new coach that most seemed excited about, and got a new GM. But same ol, same ol team to date. The team reminds me somewhat of the Pierce and Walker years when it seemed duck and chuck. I agree with you/others and Hate Iso/star ball. One reason I became a young Celtics fan was their fast paced Team Play. A frequently then cited post game stat was how many players were in double figures and how many assists were generated in a given game. Tatum is not Kobe and I don't want him to try. In the 'immortal' Belichick, now hackneyed words, we are what our record says we are. Where do we go from here? There will likely be little help in the draft at 16-20 position. At some point I hope we can give more time to recent draft picks. Let's find out if they can play and let the chips fall. Schroeder won't be around next year so trade him...maybe Marcus?

I hate it, reminds me of Ron Artest. I really like Kanter and love how he calls out the truth. Yet no reason to change your name. I looked at the box score and I'm like who the heck is this and then it clicked. At the same time he might have just shortened his career, he's messing around with a lot of people's money. I dislike LeBron, like a lot, but he was 100% right when he responded to Enes calling him out and said something along the lines of “a real man will talk to your face and he put his head down and just walked by me so I have nothing to say about him”…. The issues are the issues and Lebron made it about the person so he didn't have to discuss the issues and you're falling for it. It doesn't matter who the messenger is because the message is important if you dislike real slavery that is going on in 2021 while everyone ignores it. It could be the person you hate most on this planet saying it and the issue would still be happening and people still should not accept it. I'm not sure how anyone can be a social justice warrior these days without modern day slavery being the #1 issue by far. Because it doesn't matter since it's in China and we don't see it if we don't talk about it?

I too have a hard time putting a lot of stock in anything lebron says when he sticks his head in the sand when it comes to China.
