Just to get ahead of this, we're not having a COVID-related debate here. Stick to the baseball aspect. Thanks. There are 24 hours of posts on this page and not a single mention of COVID. What are you talking about? We should start one. Legitimate question….NYY and Toranto have said that non-vaccinated players can not play home games. Does that mean NYY would have to sit or dump unvaccinated players? I do not care about the whys or shoulds of vaccines! The question is how does that affect their roster and the Red Sox roster when they play in NY or Tor? This is huge as roughly 1/8th or the season is played in those 2 cities!

The post I was responding to was deleted. See my post in the FA thread. Discussing the availability of players and how it will affect a team on the field = fine. Discussion of vaccines, COVID, etc. in general = your post is getting deleted.

Braves signed Collin McHugh. Seems like a pretty modest deal for how good he was last year.

Cashman continues to assemble the 2015 MLB all-star team. Another guy who can’t move, too.
Wonder what that means for Voit and Torres?? One, or both, on the way out?

$32m guaranteed to Anthony Rizzo?!?! WTf is that?? After guaranteeing $50m to Donaldson? Terrible moves. No imagination.

Helps their defense immensely and maybe he turns back the clock a bit with his bat but unless he does that he doesn't really scare me as an addition to that team.

Pretty sure there was something going on with him at the plate last year, I fully expect his bat to come back and then there is the ballpark difference. This is a huge pickup for Toronto, great D and another dangerous bat. Sox are falling further behind everyday it seems, need Suzuki more than ever and maybe more.

He had season ending hip surgery in 2020. 2021 didn't look himself, maybe he bounces back the 2nd year off the surgery or maybe his hip is just cooked. We'll see.

That's Oakland being Oakland. Olson and now Chapman gone as they hit the reset.

Schwarber will go down as one of my favorite trade deadline pickups ever.

Rosenthal says 5/$85M for Suzuki. I hate both Schwarber at his price and Suzuki at that price. But gotta spend on someone, don't you?

Chapman has two arb years left, should make about $25 million. Projections have him at about 7.5 WAR (There is a lot of disagreement among the spreadsheets about whether he is Brooks Robinson with the glove, or merely good). That's like $40 million in surplus value.
Hoglund was just drafted 19th while out with TJS Logue doesn't have great stuff but just did pretty good in the high minors as a 25 year old so he looks like a decent #5 starter this year. Kevin Smith and Kirby Snead are old guys ready to step in as 24-26th men on a roster
Looks pretty fairish to me.
