Eddie Rosario signed with the Braves. Never seemed like a realistic option for the Sox.

Eddie Rosario signed with the Braves. Never seemed like a realistic option for the Sox. I'd say he fits there. They could use his bat and he has a special history with them now. I think if the Sox get Freeman then they must definitely land a RH hitting OF bat, which I'm guessing winds up being Tommy Pham.

Pham had one of the unluckiest seasons in terms of xwOBA variance (so did Donaldson for anyone hating on that move by NYY). Could do a lot worse at this point

Reds traded Amir Garrett to the Royals for Mike Minor.

Greinke to the Royals $13M Wasn't terrible last year. Not sure if I'd rather have him or Wacha (Rich Hill's was better than both). At least Greinke had a positive WAR even though he looked washed up. Royals aren't going anywhere anyways in 2022. Greinke pulls a rabbit out of his hat and they get a good prospect in return. Plus its a feel good story.

I've always liked Kris Bryant, glad he's got his ring already since I don't see him getting one in Colorado. Hopefully he has plenty of good seasons left in him though.

The Rockies confuse me. If someone can explain their organizational philosophy that would be great.

If Kris Bryant doesn't make the HOF now he's screwed the pooch.

That contract is absolutely nuts, they were bidding against themselves at that point. Freeman at 6 years 180M would be a bargain compared to that

That’s one of the worst contracts in recent memory.

That’s one of the worst contracts in recent memory. Oh wow I also just read it has a full NTC too. That's just plain terrible.

shouldn't some of these contracts be viewed in the context of the new streaming income and labor agreement.

That’s one of the worst contracts in recent memory. Either it means that the union really won the CBA or the Rockies are clueless... Never mind.

Well… I can be sad about not signing big contracts but this is a good reminder that things can be much, much worse.
