Amazing pitchers' duel to finalize the CWS finals matchup today. Connor Noland threw 8 innings of two run ball for Arkansas, but Ole Miss Junior Dylan DeLucia pitched the first CGSO in the CWS since 1993.

This is insane. I guess there's a very wealthy LSU booster out there who's more of a baseball guy than a football guy huh?

I think that one might be more than just money he has been used mostly as a reliever this season and maybe he is looking for a guarantee starting spot that Vanderbilt with all its arms plus more prolly coming in does not guarantee. Obviously just speculating here but I could see sporting reasons for his move and why not take advantage of the new system.

That said, Little was very far from being automatically excluded from the rotation next season. He'd gotten more chances as the season went on and looked better in them. Also, Vandy's starters are far from written in stone at the moment. Will definitely have an easier path at LSU though.

They went from barely in the tournament to champions.

So money definitely has something to do with it - LSU must be swinging a big financial stick right now, because they just hired the Twins pitching coach for the same position at LSU.

So I guess in the CWS the trophy presentation is they just throw it on top of the dog pile in front of the mound?

One to watch for the 2024 draft. LSU stays reeling them in through the portal, wonder how that might be happening...

I hadn't even heard about this one, he was extremely good for UCLA, I'm very sad lol This is precisely what people feared when they got rid of the transfer waiting period and added NIL money. That said, those fears were pretty silly. If I don't get into the college I want and I go to a different school, get that 4.0 plus 5 extracurriculars, and want to transfer into the school I wanted with a merit scholarship, I can go ahead and do that. Why shouldn't an athlete do the same?

I know everyone thinks it's the NIL money but really it's just everyone wanting to be in Dylan Crews' vicinity.

Could this change the equation for dudes passing MLB and going to college? I really didn’t expect NIL money to be such a factor in baseball but I guess I was wrong 🤔🤔
Not the top ones but more like the 2nd round grade and lower 1st round grade ones.

Why shouldn't an athlete do the same? Not that it affects the fact that college guys making NIL money is fair and just, but Hurd absolutely could have gone to LSU originally - he was slated for top 3 rounds of the draft before he solidified his commitment.

I was holding out hope that Jacob Gonzalez would challenge Crews for the top ranked college player going into next season crown but he really showed some issues towards the end of the season.
