There's our run. Now let's finish the shutout and win this thing. How far does Pivetta go? I am guessing that he does not get out of the seventh, but would really like to see an old-fashioned complete game shut out. With our pen? Rude that horse!

What happened to the 30-60 page game threads? There used to be series threads that approached 100 pages.... even passed 100 pages in some NYY series. Sad

Pivetta’s fastball looks like it has lost a few mphs, but he actually looks better… he’s pitching, not throwing.
Add:
And now: the Garrett Richards experience.

Richards is so much more fun to watch in any other uniform.

Bobby. Bobby. Bobby. We hardly recognize you.
No worries. Worcester is a fun kind of town.

Too much negativity Or maybe the Sox are playing what feels like meaningless games in May. You can blame "negativity" among posters all you like but it's the Sox play that has turned the threads into a ghost town.

I hear what you gus say on thread participation. I have been active here 9+ years and a heavy lurker a few years before that... basically here 12+ years and have never seen it like this

Thoughts on Pivetta to the pen if he still is "off" tonight? He had great success in the pen last year and we need someone He was obviously "on" and I think this is why he needs to start. He can give them seven innings when he's right. I think Houck needs to be the guy in the pen, with Whitlock starting.

Sad Team's recent play doesn't warrant that sort of attention. Celtics and the Bruins are more deserving at the moment (has 1/100 of an eye on the Sox, was FULLY immersed in the Celtics drama - Tatum! If the Sox play better, the threads will get longer

What happened to Verdugo? Nothing. This is who he is . I was yelled at all Winter for saying as much. He’s a big disappointment.

They haven’t just been bad; they have been unwatchable. A boring, bland, disinterested team with no passion isn’t going to fill up these threads. I do miss the banter when they are going well, though. I’m not going to lie.

Verdugo is fine, that big road trip we had where he hit like .100 he had a million line drives and deep fly outs that were caught. He’s the least of my concerns with this lineup (well outside the usual X/Devers/JD)

Just a flat out silly statement. Doing a victory lap a month into the season after an unlucky stretch and saying he’s a .590 OPS guy is peak benzinger I wish the Sox were like you because you’re in midseason form! Cooking with gas!

What happened to Verdugo? He has an xwOBA of .360, higher than Mookie Betts'. The Red Sox hitters have failed in a plethora of ways, but in his case it's just sheer bad luck.
