They're meant to be a lot less formal than other threads on the forum, so to moderate them the same way would be silly. However, we do ask posters to maintain a certain level of decorum in these threads, and we plan on moderating the Gameday threads a little more actively this season. In particular, we ask that posters refrain from being overly repetitive with their posts (if you've made your point, let it go), refrain from monopolizing the discussion (if you are making more than a couple posts in a row, you probably need to slow down a little bit), and of course, follow the Ground Rules ( link). The point is to make these threads worth participating in and fun for all posters, from our long-time fixtures to people just signing up today. -The Management

Bobby Dalbec needs to change his walk-up music.
There, I said it.

2.5 games back from the last WC spot. Just sayin'.
While I'm at it - 9.5 for the division. A reminder that the MFYs are starting to suck (at winning that is).

I'm watching the box scores of other games and constantly refreshing the standings as we get closer to the trade deadline. Can't wait until teams start selling.

Cease and Giolito, tough. I like our chances against TBD, though

Bobby Dalbec needs to change his walk-up music. There, I said it. If he changed it to “Bobby Bitch” by Bobby Shmurda he’d instantly become the best hitter in the league

Time for a name change? Is Robert Dalbec better? Rob Dalbec? Pull the middle name and go by Vernon Dalbec? Gotta mix it up.

Bobby Dalbec needs to change his walk-up music. There, I said it. How about a bat that is all of one ounce lighter? It would result in a slightly quicker swing. With a lot of these pitches, he is just missing.

I enjoy Sox v. Sox. The ChiSox have loads of fun talent to watch, and I don’t like them. Not *hate* them (cf. Yankees, the MF’n). Just the least twitch of the needle into negative (bonus dislike for LaRussa, whom I’ve always hated). Good viewing.

Yeah, he was the worst, but their current announcing team is probably my favorite in the game right now. Anyone who has the chance to should check them out.

Just the least twitch of the needle into negative (bonus dislike for LaRussa, whom I’ve always hated). Good viewing. I always enjoyed despising Hawk Harrelson's super homer color work! Once upon a time he used to do that for the Red Sox, didn't he? I've been re-reading Peter Gammons' "Beyond the 6th Game" (after a weekend of paying tribute to baseball's greatest writer in my opinion, Roger Angell who passed away at age 101, by reading his Red Sox related essays), and in Gammons' book he mentioned that The Hawk, when working for the Red Sox, would rip Don Zimmer's managerial strategy regularly, so I guess he wasn't the ultimate homer there. As for the ChiSox, he does far less damage in the booth than in the GM chair. The White Sox tried him in that capacity in the mid 1980s and it was brutal. I think he tried to move Carlton Fisk from behind the plate to the outfield or something crazy like that, and he had an itchier (and more destructive) trigger finger than Jerry DiPoto when it came to making trades. Yeah, it's a lot less harmful for him to say, "Put it on the board.....yes!!"
