2022 Draft Signing Period

By my math, if you assume 750k for Brannon, then there's 700k for Rogers and Meidroth. Can adjust back and forth there accordingly.

Stoked. One of my four picks to click this year, along with Rogers, Brand and Johnson, who I hope will be the next domino to fall (I mean, he's a college senior, so...).

It's going to be interesting to see what Meidroth and Rogers sign for. If the 500K estimates are on the Sox will have another 325K to throw around after the 10th round. Not sure that gets it done for anyone with any kind of leverage.

Kind of off topic, but have thought for years, like since the team moved to Ft Myers for ST and then started the FCL team, why not spend the money on an older, in distress hotel that has gone under, or build some type of dormitory style housing option for the people they have in Ft Myers, single guys that is. It would be an excellent expenditure and help mostly young kids not making much and many not used to a new culture be all in one group. They put them up at an area hotel. The Yankees' hotel is a 3-star "suite"-type airport hotel next to a strip club!

Imagine one year if we had just a little more money we could sweep this draft. If we had the money from the from the Trevor Story pick lost we would of aced this.

All I could find out there on him was that he hits some long HRs in BP and has a line drive oriented lefty swing. Do we know anything else like athleticism, etc?

Might mean nothing, but each of Johnson, Mullins, Landry, and Ramsey list the Red Sox in their bio line on Instagram.

I had a feeling that after Zayas, Jones would be signing. What a class. Also, let the campaign begin to add a second FCL team. For real, they’re gonna need one at this point We want another box score to monitor dammit! Also need Lowell back.

From the video that was posted earlier, he has a righteous posterior...

Might not be too hard to find a reasonable way to splash 200k around in the expanded UDFA market with only 20 rounds. Has any UDFA got over 125k leaguewide this year? Most likely one of the draftees expected to sign is gonna get that extra money though I would guess.
Nice, thank you. Its interesting he got overslot, He was committed to xfer to Tennessee, but he would have been a 5th yr SR.

I keep on assuming the Sox will have another 300K or so to spend, which seems like a lot of money to leave on the table, but.....for all we know Brannon is signed for closer to 1 million. Or it could the 3rd and 4th round pick signing for a little bit more money.
having shorter rounds adds another element to it, there is a larger pool of talent out there who may be willing to take 200k or so and start their professional career. It's also worth noting that as of right now the Sox only have TWO UDFA signed, I would expect more.....but probably not any short stops.
One way or another we will find out soon.

Callis says Brandon Sproat is the highest pick likely to get unsigned. Florida sophomore pitcher that went #90 to Mets.

I tell you I wouldn’t put anything past these guys. They continue to surprise me. I know being drafted by the Red Sox carry only so much weight but it helps too.

18th round pick Austin Ehrlicher is a two-sport athlete who has some potential, as well as some publicly-stated interest in playing college basketball at a high level.
