I know that he hasn't had a particularly well stocked quality pen, but Cora's pen usage approach this year (including when he lifts some of his starters, etc) has not been his finest hour. Then again, he seems to be in a total no-win situation, what with all of the injuries and slumping players and contract issues. He truly is on a no win situation. The bullpen is awful. He understandably overuses Schreiber, which might bite him in the butt next year, but who else can he rely on? In an ideal situation Schreiber is a 7th or 8th inning setup guy for somebody 6 foot 6 that throws nothing but bee bees.

Pham has turned back into a pumpkin. I think we have a whole collection of pumpkins - I include Kiké in that - we tend to overvalue our players that have a hot streak - but he is now what he pretty much always was. Ditto Pham. JD has a horrible 2020 - then had a dead cat bounce recovery last year, but this year shows his decline continues. Just as with the pen, we are at kind of a no win situation with a whole lot of this team. I did note Mazz stated we've had 5 last place finishes in the last 11 years - so we are in a boom/bust period. I guess that potentially bodes well for next year??

I'm probably on an island here but I was hoping Trevino would get on just to make it interesting. Can't think of too many reasons to watch. Judge's ABs are a reason to watch. Doesnt mean I want him to homer against the Sox. Just means I want something interesting to watch.

It was set last inning, too, wasn't it? Lol Left the room to talk to my wife for a minute, came back and the inning was already over.

I thought sure Kiké would GIDP. He nearly did.
Casas set up to steal the spotlight from Judge. Big moment.

Best news for me - I decided this game was worth watching so skipped washing our car (much to the chagrin of my wife!)

Part A regression to the mean can be painful. Part B I cant wait to find what Bloom's idea is of significant improvement is to the 2023 team.

Two pathetic looking strikeouts by Verdugo in 2 big spots Damn and just like that he’s still the 2nd best bat on the team in terms of impacting winning, still by a massive margin I apologize for the fact he can’t hit .500 in huge spots
