Grant Williams is a better player and a better fit for this roster (shooting, defense (including versatility), passing) than Vanderbilt.

Not Celtics related, but Kyrie Irving is really the worst. Came here to post that. The Nets were the second seed just the other day and look nigh unstoppable when Durant was healthy. Kyrie really, REALLY is an imbecile.

I guess they don’t feel like playing basketball tonight.

That being said, Vanderbilt might be better at everything besides shooting. Like you really think Grant Williams is a more versatile defender? His shooting which has been improving is my only worry given Robert Williams. Yet another guy who just doesn't jack up 3 point shots isn't a horrible idea either.

It's truly inexplicable how this team just chooses not to play some nights. Lol.

Like you really think Grant Williams is a more versatile defender? Not jmei, but I also think Grant is a more versatile defender and we sometimes take him for granted on that end. I get that he isn't FLASHY, but he is in general extremely solid and fundamentally sound defending everywhere.

Brogdon does some inexplicably dumb stuff out there on occasion.

They’re just playing such dumb basketball right now. Zero movement, zero effort. They cut the lead to one or two and think their job is done.
Pathetic stuff.

Grant and Brogdon are -24 and -28 late in the 4th. Bench not having their best night.

Pathetic effort against a lowly Gleague Suns team. Grant Williams in particular has been an absolute nothingburger the past month for a guy supposedly trying to get 18 mill a year. Foul machine on defense and tries to play beyond himself on offense. Not to mention the incessant and inexcusable whining to refs.

Interesting stat - Tatum has NO two point shots. 3 for 10 on threes, 0 for 5 on twos.

I guess sometimes a team simply is not interested in playing hard. Like tonight - it happens, but it's ugly to watch.
Just heard that they are 14-12 when they are outrebounded. Suns were +10 on the boards.

Celtics aren’t careful they’ll lose home homecourt to Milwaukee who's 1.5 behind us and playing good basketball lately.

Go watch tape on Vanderbilt, he's easily more versatile and is a great defender. He's not just a highly athletic player, he has what Grant does to go along with his natural ability. Plus he's 18th in rebounding, a big part of D, where Grant isn't good. Defensive metrics match what I'm seeing on tape, even with Grant on a good defensive team and Vanderbilt on a very poor one. BTW you still like that chuck up 3s all the time game plan?

I trust your basketball opinion, I will watch some tape. Like I said, I really like the player, I just think he's too good for the role and gun to my head him or Grant, I go with Grant. And I never said I like chuck up 3s lol. I said get good looks and if you have to shoot 100 3's in a game because that's what is open, shoot it. And since this team has so many good shooters, an outside shot is ideally what they should be looking for. The problem is that the offensive execution in this game was ABSOLUTELY HALAL. They also badly miss Marcus Smart running the offense.

I said it before too but Vanderbilts passing *chefs kiss* www.nbadraft.net/players/jarred-vanderbilt/Even years ago was seen as a point forward like Lamar Odom. If he keeps improving his shooting he's a very good Horford replacement long-term and that's what's great about him, he's 23 and just keeps getting better.

They also badly miss Marcus Smart running the offense. The offense is designed to get open looks. I'm certainly not anti 3 point shot, I'm anti 40 to 50% of your shots being from deep. I also want them working on the issues that plague them in the playoffs, you can't do that bombing away from deep. Like I actually think they could destroy teams without taking a ton of three's and they come and go. Yet that's just me. I'd have them practicing day in and day out not taking a single 3. All ball movement, guys moving and getting easy shots. Nevermind part of their rebounding issues is everyone is around the 3 point line. Call me old school, maybe I watched too many old school Celtics specials.
