I feel it's kind of petty to do this, but I have to point out that the Mavs have continued to flame out since trading for Kyrie. It makes me very happy.

Nice test tonight. Celtics not hitting from 3, Sixers are. Shouldn’t matter. If the Celtics exert effort, get out and run they can beat Philadelphia on a cold shooting night.

I could watch Brogdon and White play all night. They've been more effective in this game than Tatum - who has really made some odd decisions and had some shaky play.

Not sure what Tatum is up to in this game. Offense stops with him - and he is taking bad shots. He is a -11. Smart is making some bonehead plays too. Tonight the team is operating much better focusing on White and Brogdon.
Just did it again. Got the ball - dribbled and stood there. And now Grant Williams is running his mouth and got T-d up
Embiid is demonstrating why he, not Tatum, is lead MVP candidate

If Tatum never had the types of games that people have been calling weird or off-brand this year, he’d be the best player in the NBA.
I’m just glad he had those 2 hot shooting games last week because I want him confident shooting the 3 come playoff time.

Hell of a win. I hope they upgrade over Hauser for the next season so Tatum and Brown can comfortably rest. Good job by Joe with the lineups in this back to back, he rested guys and they could have won both games. Didn’t happen last night, but it did tonight.
Smart, White and Brogdon is such an awesome guard trio.

Speaking of the tank teams, here's hoping that Houston can win 1 of their last 2 (vs Charlotte and Washington) and San Antonio loses out (vs Portland, Minnesota and Dallas).
If I understand the traded picks, we'd get Houston's 2nd (which would be 33rd in that case). I think we also have Portland's (somewhere in the 35-40 range).

The new CBA rules probably make it more likely the Celtics try and resign Grant Williams since they won’t have a MLE to work with for a little while.
Hopefully, they can make Blake Griffin a longer term fixture here in his current low paid role.

It's a long season, it can get boring, they have so much talent - I nicked them half a grade just because of an annoying habit to lose to poor teams (because it can get boring). The team is far superior to last year's team. Expecting big things in the playoffs. |

No I don’t think he’s top 5 yet. He’s top 10 from a cumulative stats perspective, but it’s complicated. Embiid, Jokic, Giannis, Curry and Durant are all more valuable on a per game basis. Most outside of the market would argue that Luka is a better player. I also think Shai has been better this season. I think I’d take LeBron and Kawhi in a playoff series as well. That would leave Tatum at 10. If you asked an alien from mars to watch the Celtics/Heat playoff matchups from the last few years, that alien would tell you Jimmy Butler is the better player. That matters to me. |
