My only nitpick is that Jaylen didn’t need to play 36 min
I hope the Spurs get Wemby, they need him

I hope the Spurs get Wemby, they need him Absolutely, it would be the best option for him as well. Out of all the really terrible teams, the Spurs are BY FAR the best one at drafting and evaluating talent and you just can't deny the winning culture.

Predictions for the season? Honestly, boringly, I think we'll end up about the same as last year. 50 wins, some lows with new coach, some highs where we're the best team in NBA, and a fight to ECF or Finals. If Brogdon and Time Lord can be healthy in the playoffs and Horford doesn't disintegrate, we should be in better shape than last year. I hope they pace themselves in early going and Tatum/Horford/Brown get rest, since last season was the longest of all their careers and all (maybe with the exception of JB) were feeling it at the end. I don't think Tatum is ready to make the MVP Votes leap. So far you’ve nailed it.

Baffling. Lots of no shows tonight.

Jaylen - -24, 0 for 4 threes, 4 turnovers Grant 8 points, 0 for 4 threes in 26 min White -20, 7 points, 1 assist in 24 min Horford 5 points, 1 for 7 threes in 26 min Rob Williams pretty much a no show
One of those nights. But...kill top seed goodbye, methinks

Didn’t realize this until now but it seems we have a very early 2nd coming our way this year

One of the picks we got for trading Desmond Bane. We don't have anymore 2nd round picks through 2028 and with the way Stevens trades firsts, that pick is way more important than it should be.

Really was not expecting this to be a 30-point lead at halftime…

Jaylen really does have a beautiful game when things are clicking. This is one of those games.

At its best, this team is better than any other in the league. Very few teams can combine their offensive ceiling (shot making, multiple ball handlers, crisp ball movement) with their defensive ceiling (length, versatility, switchability).

I think that Jayson's shooting slump may just be history. The team came to play, big time. As I've said all season long - this team is as great as they are motivated to be on a given night.

Whew. They got Rob out - no need to risk his injury. Entire fourth quarter deep bench time. Love it!
Derek White never stops moving. Even with us up more than 40, he is cutting, defending, getting open, making shots. He and Brogdon - we are so lucky to have them.
Don't usually see a player with a +41 - that's Brogdon!

538.com now has Boston favored to win it all - 24% chance - with Denver at 17%

At this point, I’m almost as frustrated with the blowout wins against contenders as the no shows against cellar dwellers. This team should have won it all last year and they should have won it all in 2020. If they can be consistently good (make the right plays, high energy throughout) rather than be occasionally great (blow you out one game, no show for two quarters in the next), they will win the championship this season. At that point, Jaylen gets a max, the pressure is off, and I tend to think they win a few of them.
If they can’t win this year, there will be no consolatory sports radio chatter. I don’t envision Jaylen will resign. And I would not be shocked if he got moved to a team that can give him his max.
There is a lot riding on the outcome of this season.

This team should have won it all last year and they should have won it all in 2020. Last season could have gone either way, but I definitely don't think they would have beaten the Lakers in 2020.

I do not understand my favorite team beating the tar out of perhaps it's toughest opponent, on the opponent's home court, and the reaction being anything but positive.
Is there no escaping the "If they don't win it all it will be such a disaster" narrative? I thought ignoring the likes of trenni and felgah et al was sufficient. Is there literally no escape?

Brogdon shooting the lights out in the third Q - and so is Grant.

White, Brogdon and Grant combining for 45 points at the start of the 4th. Nice.
Good thing - no Al, no Rob, and Jaylen having an off night

I hope we rest Jaylen, he looked hobbled that game.
