It’s weird - when Tatum is aggressive and attacks the basket, he scores at will. But when he settles and shoots from deep, he doesn’t score.
I wonder if there’s something to this.

Things I've loved in this game so far
56% shooting, 26 assists, 4 turnovers, 35-27 edge in rebounds
The beast that is Jaylen in this game
Great support from White, Hauser, Brodgon
What I've not loved - Tatum's game in general. Too much time styling, stalling with the ball, taking 3s.

Total lack of poise by our stars - Brown, Tatum and Smart with costly mistakes/turnovers in the last few minutes.
Tatum a generally bad game - bad decisions, bad shooting.

No matter how this ends, it is inexcusable - Atl didn't have Murray, this was a closeout game at home. No championship if this is the way they are going to play.

Tip off with Al and a player from Atlanta held on to Tatum with both hands no foul. Why was it a foul when Smart tipped it it away from Young? I now everyone will blame the Celts exacution but why can't it be both that AND the horrible calls by refs, it can and is both here. |

Tatum 8 for 22, 1-11 threes. This one is squarely on him. He was a -9. Although Smart was a -12.

Guys who played all game - White, Brogdon, Brown, Williams, Horford (somewhat anyway)
Guys who did not - Tatum, Smart - and they are your big negatives in +/-

And Joe overthought this one way too much bringing Blake Griffin in and not playing Brogdon enough. Seriously, I usually relax after a game is over, but I’m still angry as hell here lol.

This team could win the championship or lose this series to the Hawks. Nothing would surprise me. Tatum’s inconsistency is the worst of any star in the league.

This Celtics team isn't very likeable. Exactly. It’s sad. I loved watching this team making Eastern Conference runs 5 or 6 years ago. There has only been marginal improvement since that time. |

There aren’t enough words to express what a chump Tatum is turning into. Dude was talking about himself being an MVP candidate a month into the season, and he’s been slowly getting worse ever since.

It just feels like they're missing something. Tatum is a super star, but I don't feel like he's anywhere near Jimmy Butler, who is a lesser player, when it comes to the playoffs and big moments. This team has been blowing leads and have been kind of a let down since that early barrage to start the season. The coach has weird rotations and time out issues. I also think Marcus Smart is arguably the most overrated Celtics of all-time. This season he's been the 3rd best point guard on this team and he gets the most minutes. I'm extra grouchy after that. |

I'd like to see Tatum not posing for pics after each made shot instead of getting back on D. I'd like to see him get the ball moving instead of standing and dribbling forever - or lazily passing or driving into a turnover - or taking a bad three when he can barely hit the rim. I'd also like to see him -and Smart - just shut up and play. I am starting to think that they do have an attitude issue toward entitlement. They act like they do other teams a favor when they show up.
If they end up losing to Atlanta, I will not be a bit surprised. What a waste.
