It’s unbelievable how often this team just stops playing defense.

Celts have missed so many chip shots at the basket - out of control drives, just tossing it up.

Just an embarrassing quarter of basketball. How does this team still fall apart so easily?

Third quarter disaster again - putrid shooting.

Pathetic officiating and even more pathetic execution down the stretch. Marcus just can’t help himself sometimes.

Really disappointing - awful shooting in OT, why Smart took that desperation shot near the end is yet another mystifying Smart whiff. Why not get Tatum the ball and have him drive?
Mitchell and Garland were pretty amazing for the Cavs.
We have a lot of work to do, and aren't at all scary without Rob W.

They won by 1 point. I’m not that bothered by it. I think Donovan Mitchell thinks they won the eastern conference finals. One thing Horford gets exposed not getting boards.
One more thing nothing against the coach but that’s some of the growing pains with what happened with our other coach.

One tough loss is whatever, but there are some concerning trends developing around minutes, defense, rebounding, and late-game execution. It’s obviously early enough to turn these things around, but we’re no longer talking about a tiny sample size with this team.
It’s also insane how many bad decisions Marcus continues to make on offense. He just can’t help himself sometimes.

Looks like they’re back to the “play zero defense” strategy. Finally caught up on the game, if the ref only made the right call it was definitely an and one at the end of regulation and he more than likely wins it at the free throw line. If the right call was made we'd be talking about the late game heroics.

I hope there not getting a reputation with the referees, that’s one sport the referee can change the complexion of the game. I’ve seen it too many times in games.
One more thing so Garnett doesn’t have us top 4 in the East but he has the Nets. Lol. I needed that laugh.

More info on the Primo release:
Team Sports Psychologist is suing the Spurs and Primo for not responding to alleged in appropriate behavior (she says Primo exposed himself at least 9 times during their sessions).
Primo, through his lawyer, denies this and is accusing her of abuse of her position (the lawyer also keeps referring to her age, which is a bit odd). Not a countersuit but just a rebuttal.

There seemed to have been at least a couple of calls that went against us where, on replay, they could easily and likely have been successfully challenged. I think that was on our new coach...
Also, I saw Grant Williams appear to loudly/angrily confront Mazzulla on the sidelines at one point. To me that was an expression of disrespect towards the coach.
Further seeing Mazzulla chew gum frantically all game, projects to me (the players?) the impression of anxiety rather than a sense of calm, reasoned assessment of game play.
Finally hearing indirectly that some C's players are not happy with management's handling of the Ime situation, gives me additional pause as to player confidence with Mazzulla.
All in all, early vibes suggest to me that the coach may be an interim head.

I think you’re reading way too much into silly things like chewing gum.
btw I’ve seen Spoelstra get in heated disagreements with his players, they must have no respect for him.
people see what they want to see I guess. I’m not saying Mazzulla is necessarily the guy either to be clear. That’s still very much tbd

All in all, early vibes suggest to me that the coach may be an interim head. I know it was short notice but the players need to stop complaining and hinting Ime didn't get a fair shake. It's pretty standard in business to restrict inter-office romances between leadership and subordinates, he broke the rule, from what has been said, multiple times and was less than respectful. Does he deserve punishment? Yes. To loose his career? No. I'm a little shocked Adam Silver hasn't stepped in to say No, not this year, considering the already festering dumpster fire that is Brooklyn this hiring seems just too on the nose. Either way all I can hope is that Brooklyn explodes like the Hindenburg. It's beginning to feel a little WWE like in the NBA. I expect Bob Knight to make an appearance and throw a chair at a ref at this point.

When Stevens coached and also with Ime, there were a lot of positive comments from the players. I haven't yet heard that this season so far with Joe.

Losing your coach is not a minor thing . I feel for the team and the G.M. because he has been killing it to get this team locked in. That’s what I hate about this sport you either the ‘“in” team or you have literally no shot. So we finally get our house in order and this is the off-season we had. So I’m giving them a grace period. But Al I dont know another year luckily this is his free agent year.

Perhaps I am jaundiced by the elevation of a young assistant coach to first chair and my perception that it doesn't always play well. The players have familiarity, but with Mazzulla at second level. It will be interesting to see the inter-relation as the season develops. I've been making the annual trip at season's end in Maine to Sarasota so Wednesday's game was the first I have seen in totality.

Another exciting, competitive game. The talent of the Celtics allows them to go through really offensively ragged possessions. They often lack flow and smoothness - Brogden impresses me.
Smart continues to take ill advised shots. Brown hasn't really fixed his ball handling/turnover issues completely.
I've watched most of the games this season - I suspect they will be a work in progress for some time.
DeRozan is pretty unreal - super smooth, always in control.
Tatum at 4 for 13 - got to do better. Driving into traffic, teammates not finding him in the right spot? Something is not right yet.

Despite my carping, first half lead, shooting 57%, only 5 turnovers, Brown took only 5 shots, nice half by Brogden

So they get a lead - then just start chucking up threes (or Brown loses it on drives). Frustrating.

Loving what I am seeing in the third - they found momentum. Tatum is playing huge.
spoke too soon - Brogdon sloppy turnover, some loose D and Chicago back within 5.
three empty possessions - Smart misses two layups, Brown drives into traffic and gets stuffed.

Count me as getting pretty sick of Grant and his mouth at the officials. Shut up and play the game.

Mark Davis is a corrupt piece of garbage. It’s insane that the NBA is okay with these clowns representing the league.

I would be OK with more Brogdon (currently +6, 19 points on 8 for 9), less Smart (12 points, only 1 assist).
I'd like to see more Hauser too. Lots of confidence in his shot right now
