Giannis seems like a good dude. One of my favorite athletes for sure. He fouls (and doesn't get called for) too much though.

Celts go up big fast driving the ball - then Tatum and Horford take (and miss) quick 3s, and Brown drives into traffic and loses the ball.
Maddening how they can't stick with what works.
Now we are putting them on the line - and driving into charges.

Being Young-ed again. Tatum missing point blank layups. Without Brogdon and White we'd be in deep trouble already. Mystifying.

Midway through the second quarter, the Hawks look really good. We look disorganized. Celts being outrebounded, too many turnovers.
Weird to see how they don't really play defense on Young - just back up and let him shoot from where he wants.

Terrible play by Brown. Dribbled forever and they couldn't get a last shot off. The stats for Tatum and Brown look good - but some of their decisions....Dogfight game.

Not even sure what we are running on offense or defense. Not a clear third quarter response so far. But we are sure taking some bad fouls, and falling asleep on D.

As the third comes to a close, another annoying play where a 50 50 ball gets to the Hawks for a layup just because of better hustle.
Very evenly matched game. Tatum, Brown, Smart, Brogdon, White all with good games - Horford not great, Rob Williams kind of invisible.
Less complaints with the offense than with the defense tonight so far. Anyone's game. And just like that, they let Bogdonovich get an easy layup, and Tatum takes two bad threes. In a game like this it is the little things and the Celts are not addressing the little details. So - Atlanta takes a 2 pt lead to the 4th.
I HOPE I am wrong - but I have a strong suspicion there will be a game 7 in Boston.

Right on Schedule, Smart throws it right to a Hawk coming out of a time out. Now down 3.
Now Smart chucking up and missing 3s.

Smart bad turnover. Missed rebound on the second missed FT. Details, details....bizarre.

Whelp. Supremely entertaining game, not a hair of separation between the two teams pretty much until the last few minutes. Both teams played well, both teams worked hard. Celtics are now battle tested (again!) and can finally move on.
That was fun - and exhausting - and sometimes frustrating. Meaning it was a great game!
Celtics defense alarmingly leaky at times.

This team is so silly.
Probably their worst played series in 2 years. They’ll need to execute at a much higher level if they want to win it all. This Hawks team is really bad defensively.

Yea but they are really good offensively - young is a scary scary player. He’s not good enough to carry a team thru an entire playoffs but he can get scorching hot to win a series or two.

Really impressed with a few of the Hawks players. Hunter....or Collins (especially) - would fit great with the team - maybe as Al is reaching the end of his career.
Watching Collins at his post game interview - really bright guy, poised. He played really well in the series.

Tatum did superstar stuff at the end of that game
Will definitely need more defensively to win the title but we must remember Atlanta is an elite offensive team. They actually remind me of the NBA version of the florida panthers now that I think of it
Shouldn’t have been as hard as it was but if you told me the Celtics would win in 6 at the beginning of the series I’d say that’s well within the realm of possibility

Championship pathway is right there. Can't wait for the Sixers series.

Championship pathway is right there. Can't wait for the Sixers series. I can look ahead since I don't actually play for the Celtics, but I'm almost more scared of the Knicks and Heat than the Bucks, since I think we know we could take the Bucks but the Knicks and Heat legitimately think they are better than us and I'm worried we'll take them for granted like we did the Hawks. Was watching the NFL draft and not the Celts game but following gamecast I felt so much better when the Celtics were behind in the 2nd half than I did on Tuesday when they were up by 10. They play better with backs against the wall.

The 76ers pose a big threat, yet they have never been able to apply the defensive pressure teams like the Heat or Warriors can. Embiid has also never been in shape or healthy enough to play Giannis style every minute of every game full out. He gets tired and starts taking jumpers.
One worry, not having another physical big to bang. You're putting a lot of pressure on Horford and Robert Williams, injuries or foul issues and I don't know what you do. Embiid was the biggest reason I wanted another defensive big, you have to tag team him to wear him down and keep guys out of foul trouble. I'm certainly worried about an aging Horford and Williams. Yet Horford seems to thrive on these match-ups.

I wouldn't do that. Wearing him down derails their offense and defense. I'm playing him one on one, while occasionally sending guys to strip him. Have to keep him guessing and that really frustrates him. Yet it's physical, make him earn every point. So you shouldn't have a hard time guarding the others. The worry is fouls, injury and lack of depth.

If the Celtics had closed it out early, they would have had at least one more Embiid-less game.
